Default Polaris goes Pontoon

Polaris spends like 800 million to buy pontoon manufacturer Boat Holdings, which make the venerable and highly sought Rinker, Bennington Godfrey and Hurricane brands.

OK I hate pontoons truth be told... Was just surprised to find out their top model costs over 250K....!!

And like most new boats, actually worth about half the asking price.

Twin 300's, helm master, and 30 feet long. It'll go 70+mph as well.

I dont blame them for wanting to get into the pontoon game....as near as I can determine, more new pontoons are showing up where I boat than just about anything else with the exception of maybe Blue Wave.

Blue Wave is KILLING it on the Texas Coast.

While not $250k, I saw a huge Premier pontoon with twin Yamaha 350s for a boat show special price of $179k

Sure enough, a few weeks later it was in a slip the next cove over

Several twin powered tritoons on our lake. Many have full glass windshields, enclosures, and will absolutely fly. Also have essentially a set of stairs going into the water from the center pontoon. Seen them from Premier, Bennington, Crest, and other brand or two I believe. Also seeing quite a few equipped with power folding bimini's, which is great for bridge clearance.

Friend was looking at one, but with with a big single boat instead. Issue is most of the twin powered boats are wide bodies, and require permits for towing, which also restricts when you can tow. Not a huge deal for most lake dwellers, but a very big deal if it is to serve dual duty on the lake and the coast.

Our Harris tri-toon only has a single 300HP; now I feel under powered. Plus it will only do about 55 MPH.

Just go to Bennington's website. I said it in another toon thread, the Marine Max in Clearwater had one with twin Verado 350's and one with twin 400r's. It was beyond decked out and I would rock that toon everyday. It was like a scaled down sportfisher. But again, you ask who will pay it. I counter with the people who pay over half a million for a center console boat they use maybe a dozen times a year.

Didn't have to look far to find a Bennington north of $200k. These things are decked out, far more than the CC I see here that are north of $200k. Different strokes for different folks.

I applaud Polaris for buying companies and keeping them in the US. Now the hard part comes, keeping up or even improving the quality of all the products they own.

Seems like if anyone is poised to jump into the outboard market, or buy up someone already in it, it may be them.

There are houseboats that go for $1M+ that are technically pontoon boats.

Bought my 24 foot party bardge for 8400. Sank 3500 in it with LED lights, 1100 watt stereo, custom grill, removed captian seats put a bench seat, added a second top. Totally love my pontoon. Best way to spend a day on the water.

This is how you do it. I have a very similar set up and considering refitting the topsides - $4-5k for basically a brand new boat. And to think I used to say I would never own a pontoon...

From LEDs to beer holders on the back. 4 JLs and a sub hooked to the 1100W kicket under the center. front and rear Kenwoods run off the radio for when your in the water. Torches for slow night cruising. Got rid of the captians seat so the lady can sit beside me while driving. Custom gill, on bass boat gas shocks tough them the grill comes up to cooking height. push it down for running. 12500 in it. Have the yellow bullet for when I want to play in the mid 70s/
