Default Lake Tahoma Dam in N.C. in imminent danger of failing

Wow,this could be a real disaster waiting to happen. Hope everyone evacuates in time. Feel sorry for homeowners around the lake. Dam is private so if it did fail, not sure it would be affordable to re-build? Apparently built in the 20's by a private developer who eventually went bankrupt soon after the casino/clubhouse was built.

Just talked to a buddy who has a family house on that Lake. Looks like the dam is going to be okay.

I was in college in Georgia when 30 or so people died in a Toccoa Falls, GA dam failure.

I'm confused. The authorities say the dam is in danger of collapsing at any time, your buddy says all is well, no worries so fire up the grill. Somebody is mistaken it would seem.

The evacuation has been canceled . Lake Tahoma deemed safe, evacuation order canceled | WLOS

I-40 at the top of Old Fort mountain came down again though. Closed three lanes. Opened up now. It always has slides there though when heavy rains come through.

The title of the thread says the dam is in imminent danger of falling. I had assumed that the link would be consistent with the title as I had seen recent links stating just that. I assumed wrong. Perhaps title of thread should have been different to be consistent with the link.

I claim false advertising and will be contacting the better business bureau.
