Default Pissed at Lincoln dealer today

I bought a certified Lincoln MKZ in 2015, it was a 2013 with 16 K miles. When that summer rolled around the AC was weak so I brought it in for service. They could not find the leak so they recharged the unit and added dye so the next time it got warm they could find the leak.

Well last summer the cars AC was not as cold as summer of 2015 but still good enough for me, this spring the AC is warm so I bring it back in, still under extended warranty but it should be covered as pre existing IMO.

Well they find the leak with the help of the dye but want to charge me the $100 deductible for the extended warranty. I balk and say no, it's pre existing here are your notes from the last service. Long story short the service manager tells me too bad.

More to follow tomorrow.

I'd pay the $100 just so I didn't have to think about it again, or have it continue to stress me out or frustrate me.

If you knew how to recharge the system, or learned how to DIY, (hello YouTube)
you could buy a hose kit and a can of Freon for about $30.

It's about the principle, I get it. The last people I want to give money to is a dealer but I have no fight left in me. I'd pay the $100

After reading the title of the thread I thought it meant you took a piss at the dealership today.

I'd tell the service manager that I will never darken their doorway again and that you are going use every review site you can find to tell your story.

You waited two years to go back and you think its the dealers fault?

The a/c system is a sealed system. If it was low on Freon in 2015 YOU knew there was a leak. Freon is not consumable. You should have brought it back in 30 days after getting shot up and asked them to look for the dye then. Not two years later.

Which Lincoln ?

I may know someone (I’m a SM for Infiniti, so everyone knows someone) as it’s a relatively small business ...

Lot of stress over $100
I get what you are saying. You are in the heat of the moment right now. Ask the SM to do an oil change or a detail and move on.

… find every review site and tell your story …….. ridiculous. What ever happened to just not going back to that dealership again. Be a man.

Bust a deal.....face the wheel!!!

Your both shitheads in this case....YOU - knowing a leak - service employee that moronic chasing a hundy forfeiting a customer.

your more in the right....customer versus "big business" cost absorption.

Karma

Great day all!!!!!

I actually thought he pissed at the dealer but missed. Like maybe hit the tree next to him or something. Otherwise it would have been "pissed ON the lincoln dealer" Very confused

So how much time are you going to spend trying to avoid paying $100. You can by a kit that will charge the system and seal the leak most of the time but that will cost you $40 and might not work.

What manufacture warranty is left on a 5 year old car?

I see you said "extended warranty". Is this a third party warranty or did someone pay to have the manufacture's bumper to bumper extended? Read your warranty card, im sure it says $100 deducible.
