Of the three mentioned who died, two were preventable. One was a drunk idiot who tried to climb the outside of the yacht and fell. The other was in an unlit harbor at night with no life jacket on when he hit a stationary boat. I agree that working on one of those has to be demanding, but the examples they used were not good ones.

Maybe not, but I don'r run in those circles.
My boat is only 8.5 meters long.

Another over hyped sensationalized article.
Every industry has accidents, mix in water, young adults and booze, going to be a few more.
They say 37k in the business, and they tell about 3 over several years! I know of a few more, but overall I would say yachting is very safe.

Notice they had to talk to and report on what a union organizer claimed. Of course he would paint a bad image of life on board. Oh, the horrors!! Having to work two shifts!
