Temporary shutdown. After the money has been paid it'll be business as usual.

They are building one of those stupid pools in St Johns County as well. The developer is bitching because they can't keep the water clear because all of the earth construction in the area has our black dirt in the air and the pool filters can't keep up.

What makes them tards? Because someone is rich? What did they lie and cheat about? How are they "getting theirs"?

what part of NO permits do you not understand ...

You cant fix a fence gate without a permit , I kid you not !

You need a permit to change a window !

Water heaters require a permit !

How could something this HUGE happen !

Thats crazy. Who put in the rip rap and backfill without an army corp permit? Who built the septic system without permits? Who built the dock without permits? How did power get run to the island and turned on without permits? How did all those barges of building materials and concrete get out there without anyone seeing anything. Sounds like there is way more going on here?

I had a friend in Orlando that built a huge 3 bay commercial building on a major thourghfare pulling no permits, with the time aspect it was quicker and cheaper to pay the fines and permit after the fact.

Back in the early 90s along the Polk/Osceola line in the middle of nowhere a company built a multi million dollar soil burning plant without pulling permits.

They got found out when they placed a culvert in a flood control ditch in order to make a road.

I want to replace rotting wood and put a metal roof in my house, now the process is.

Pull permit.
Remove existing shingles call for inspection.
Inspector looks and clears to replace rotting wood.
Replace rotting wood,call for inspection.
Inspector clears for dry in.
After dry in call for inspection.
Inspector clears dry in to install the metal roofing.
Install metal roofing call for finial inspection for sign off.

That can take me into a 90 day process for something I can do in a week.

I have been in a lot of commercial businesses that have a permit on the wall that is over two years old because they gave up calling for the final inspection and nobody shows up.

And they wonder why people just do it.

Everybody that I know that has attempted to open a buisness in Hillsbourgh country has had a run around of the stringing out of permits, inspector says you need this,so they do that, next Inspector says you need this which is different and requires another permit and fee.

What should take 60 days to open is now taking over a year, and it is quadrupleing the cost of doing buisness.

like I posted earlier,it is quicker and cheaper to do what you are going to do and pay the double permit fines after the fact, which is what I think they want you to do anyways because it is more revenue for the city.

Seems in many places today, anyone with five dollars more in his pocket than someone else is deemed to be a rich tard.

even better reading the article it took the 4 years to "discover it"

talk about an efficient organization, but hey I can see how it is hard to miss a house and a LIGHTHOUSE on a tiny island in a bay

His biggest mistake was putting in the lighthouse. Sure a great way to draw attention to yourself.
