GR1FFIN....... Are you incapable of understanding what you see based on how cops are being systematically EXECUTED across this nation in synarious exactly like that one! Are you that biased against law enforcement where you would side with an individual who will not comply with a direct order to remove his hands from his pockets?????

Again, you and others have ZERO clue what your talking about with regards to what ultimately happened to him. He got what he deserved. Did the cop escalate this.....you and I have no clue!!! Because you and I don't know if a call came in 15 minutes prior to this about a suspect, black with a gun who was reported in the area.

Lord olmighty you all think you know so much, but are totally clueless.

Again......become a reserve cop in your area and come write about it after a year!!!!

Cops are always in a dangerous situation. When you walk up to any car you pulled over there is a chance you are going to get shot. Apparently the Police dept agrees with me not you as this officer has been suspended as he should.

I know cops on a close level, have partied and vacationed with Boston city cops (that ran in the ghetto and were also involved in drug task forces) and know the inner workers quite well. I have also been involved with inappropriate situations where I have seen them do things they shouldnt. They run by different rules, cuz they are the law. Throw a ticket book on your dash and it is amazing at what you can get away with. I know first hand-- it was very eye opening.

Disclaimer--I will admit that an inner city cop in a big city, covering the bad neighborhoods is a very different job than the average cop. Deal with animals and sometimes you have to be an animal.

Actually it was a pretty good comparison. Nothing moronic about it.

Should have been.
Cop - Excuse me, but it looks like you have parked across a couple of handicapped spaces. Are you handicapped or is there an emergency or problem?
Guy - No, I am not. Sorry, I just had to run in real quick for a drink and seeing it is 2 AM in January in Minnesota I figured it would be ok. My apologies. It won't happen again.
Cop - Ok. Please do not do it again. Have a good evening.

Instead
Cop - (Hmm, a tall, black guy in Minnesota out at 2 AM. He must be a drug dealer, pimp or murderer.) I am a tough guy here to make you my bitch.
Guy - (Crap, there is a good chance I am going to die) I am nobody's bitch.
Cop - Now you've asked for it.

Well, the b-ball player was right about one thing - it shouldn't have led to what it led to. He could have parked in an appropriate spot. He could have taken his hands out of his pockets. He could have backed up when ordered. He could have just done what he was asked, gotten his ticket (like he suggested should have been the outcome) and gone on his way.

Don't be obtuse. That's not what he got tased for. That is what precipitated the encounter. He made bad choices during the encounter, and that's why he was tased.

That police dept is run by a coward Chief looking to move up in the world using this situation, shows absolutely nothing about who's right or wrong IMO.

We also disagree on your blanket statement regarding "They run by different rules, cuz they are the law". I personally know well over 200 varying types of Law Enforcement folks on a first name basis, know they're wives, kids, etc going back some 40 years now and only a handful acted like you stated.

I also disagree with your last statement, you can't be an animal....not today! Many folks today because of the brainwashing that the main stream media has purpatrated on the general population would rather see a cop shot then use the necessary force to stop a scum bag. That's the truth too, try talking with any inner city minority, black, white, yellow, pink or blue, they all hate the very thing that keeps them safe.....beyond bizarre!!!

2. He NEVER backed up when told to do so!!!!!!
3. He was itching for this escalation......He Was Wrong!!!!

Now. I cannot comment on the taser issue, video does not clearly show if any resisting or stupid moves on his part.
With all the cops being killed by scum bags.......where they shoot them for no other reason then they're cops, ZERO altercation nor warning, you guys don't see anything wrong with this guy keeping his hands in his pockets all that time. Ask me, the cop screwed up and waited way too long to get him to comply.

99% of you are so damn ignorant of just how vulnerable these situations are, and how cops are being set up, stalked, and targeted for execution.....truly beyond amazing to me the sheer ignorance.

Lastly.....Ball less police chief should resign!!!! Screw you with your ass wipe appeasement apology tour.....idiot!!!!

Flame away all with ZERO police experience!!!
If your arrogance gets you into enough handicap spaces, you probably gonna make a scene and lots of money from tax payers.
Got Rights!

I like the twist of your twine, more people do need to be tasered! If someone ran for office with that as their campaign slogan they'd be a shoe-in.

The real question is why did it become an "encounter" and not a parking ticket.

Answer: the guy was black, and the cop was scared.

Watch the full video.

Looked at the first couple minutes of the video..My thoughts

Officer was a bit in your face but not out of line. He
was a bit chippy.

The NBA guy was a little chippy also. Would not just answer simple questions and had to be told several times to do things. Hands in pockets is a big problem, that is what gets you killed.

Working the inner city is MUCH different than working other places. Yes, I worked the inner city of a big city..

I personally would have just written him the ticket but again, his hands would have been out of his pockets and I would have done a pat down...

and if these ARE YOUR FRIENDS then you need to address this with them. You come on here and spout BS about them doing things they should not and I bet you never addressed how disappointed you were or even turn them in. If they are dirty or doing illegal things or acting improper then you are the one with even a BIGGER integrity issue if you did/do nothing..

Holy crap, Cracker and I are pretty close on this one!

This thing is going viral and regardless of everyone's opinion I just hope it doesn't stir up a hornet's nest and get someone hurt or killed.
