Sounds like he was battling severe depression and mental illness. He and his family apparently were taking steps to protect himself and others, as they had removed all weapons from his possession. Sad story.

People in that county are only born with half a brain to start with. This Ahole must have gotten down to his last 10 brain cells.

Seems he not only killed his daughter but also his Daughter in law...

His onset of symptoms appears rather sudden. In the last 6 months according to one thing I read. Complete change of personality. Very weird. More to be found out about this tragic incident.

I wonder if he's had a brain scan. It could very well be a tumor that is impacting his decisions.

Or, he's just a freaking nutbag (pretty sure that's the clinical term).

He was a neighbor of a old coworker, my old coworker spoke highly of the family and felt real bad for them...unfortunately depression changes a person and can cause irrational things. I hope none of you have to deal with it...Unfortunately it's one of the biggest diseases in this country with the least known about it and how it affects a person or how to fix it...he knew he had struggles and was trying to do the best he could knowing....I personally feel there isn't enough emphasis on this being a disease and how to care for those in need...I for one can tell you it's not an easy fix nor easily treated ....
my condolences to the families involved...
I had to edit my post...some of you sound like a middle school kid that shoved around the kid who sits alone.....sad that some grown ups never grow up.

I wonder if people would think it was selfish if he took his own life instead?

It's a hell of a lot more selfish to kill someone else than suicide. I can't think of a single thing that a child could do to their parents to make the parents want to do them harm, especially kill them. The father is a sick SOB and he will likely come to terms with what he did and he will end up committing suicide.....watch and see if I am right.
