Agree! Feel asleep 3/4 of the way through it, however, my son said he liked it!

I thought it kinda preachy, e.g. the scene where the bad guy dies

Funny, my 9 year old, who is a BIG Marvel movie fan, was bored during the movie. My wife, myself, and my sons friend all liked it though.

Perhaps it's a hit or miss kind of thing.

Fair, at best. I like that they're at least having some fun with the scripts these days, even if Thor: Ragnarock was way over the top. BP was just meh. The accents were ridiculous. And I felt a little racist watching it thinking this is obviously what white people think Africa is like. Finally, why cast Martin Freeman as an American?

Yeah, but it makes the true racists in this country feel good that there is a "black movie" out. They'll be "throwing the card" when it doesn't get nominated, for sure.

Lame movie with little plot. I did like the line. "You brought me a broke white boy" when they bought the shot officer to the doctor in the compound.

Its the first movie in the series, they had to get all of the background info out of the way. Future plots will likely get better, similar to many of the Marvel movies.

BP was more a story builder and bridges the gaps for future installments. Not great like the others to watch but provides the information needed for the later movies.

I can't wait for the whole comic book based movie fad to die. 95% of them are terrible. We watched Black Panther yesterday and it was.... terrible.

I caught that too. Funny, if it would have been the other way around, they would have burned Stan Lee at the stake!

I did enjoy the movie to the point about learning about Wakanada and the culture. However, the plot sucked.

Wont happen and cant call something a fad that has a few decades behind it. Movie production has finally gotten to a point of allowing a decent movie to be made and there are hundreds of stories to be told.

The BP battle scene in Infinity Wars was so non-sensical. Charging into battle like barbarian warriors? Not even interested in seeing the BP movie.

Yes, because there were never 'decent movies' before comic book adaptations flooded the market with mediocre acting, vanity, and derivative plot.
