Default Cost to install outboards

Does anyone know roughly what it would cost to get a single outboard installed on a 25' pilot house? I would need a bracket installed on the boat and im thinking about a single 300hp Yamaha with all of the controls... everything the boat has a seized single diesel now.

Cost?
  • Remove inboard engine, wiring, controls.
  • Patch Inboard transom hole
  • Install new bracket provided by customer
  • Run new wiring, Install Outboard controls, electronic systems, guages
  • Flush diesel from fuel tank, disposal of old fuel
  • Mount outboard
  • Purchase and install new propeller
  • Water test and tuning.

Low end - six thousand dollars,
plus the expense of the new outboard, gauges, systems, controls, propeller and bracket.

Are you asking just for the labor to install the motor? Cost of motor, bracket, fuel lines, controls, installation? Removing a single outboard and hanging another in it's place that is compatible with all the existing controls, etc is less than a days work and a couple hundred dollars. If you are going from a diesel to outboard, you have to look at cost of motor, steering, fuel tanks (clean or replace), cables, controls, props, etc and can or will probably be just as much or more than replacing/rebuilding the existing diesel. What type of drive do you currently have and what type of work will need to be done to the hull to repair it's exit points (straight shaft or outdrive)? Lot's of what if's that need to be answered to get an accurate ball park estimate.....
