Default good lawyer in swfl or advice?

long story short i left a boat at my x's house because it had a storage... she said it needed to be in her name to store it so i signed it to her... then she said trailer needed to be in her name... she forged my name to sign it over... she sunk it. i told her to pay half and i'll suck it up and ignore it... she laughed at me and said no.

What are my options here?

Take a course in making better decisions??? Damn man, I wouldn't trust my ex w/storing my dirty socks. Forgery is a crime last I heard. Threatening to charge her w/that might pressure her into paying up. If you're lucky, you can get her to pay the full amount for your trouble. Good luck w/this.

Is it a two thousand dollar boat or two hundred thousand dollar boat? It sounds like the only thing you’ll get out of this is a valuable lesson.

It had her name on the title, it was her boat unless you have a signed document otherwise. Lick your wounds and go home.

I think your only option is to get your Lobotomy reversed.

Your EX sunk HER own boat. Issue solved.

Did you call the police to report the crime of Forgery?

Forgery on the trailer sale is a crime. Start prosecuting!

Did she sink it with the trailer attached? Have her sign back over the trailer. At this point she is probably still to distracted laughing at you to care.

Did you sign the title over? Did your ex wife ever go to the DMV and register the boat in her name, or does she just have the title you signed over?

If she never transferred it, the boat may still be yours on paper, which means your insurance policy would still apply.

If you signed the boat over, she transferred ownership, and didn't have insurance you're out of luck.

Federally there are laws prohibiting the scuttling of a vessel. I would assume the same applies at the state level. How did she sink it? Do you have insurance on it?

Somethings fishy here, I'm struggling to believe a guy successful enough to own three boats is dumb enough to sign one over to his ex wife and leave it at her house then believe her when she tells you she left it with some guys and it sunk. This is either a made up scenario or we are missing a lot of the details.

It's her boat and her trailer so I can't see why she legally owes you anything unless there was a contract. BTW who had the insurance on it?
