Default Be aware ! Scammers on craigslist

Just an FYI to all I have encountered scammers on Craigslist trying to sell boats that don't exist... They use a
shipping company DDM Quality Shipping ( you can research on Google) . The use the same reason for selling either
saying Dad or Father has passed and have no need for the boat.......UNREAL !!!!!!! Please share.......

I've seen them and immediately avoid them. They're pretty obvious. Ridiculous prices with liitle/no detail.

I have one trying to buy my car, sending extra money for the movers. I gave them the police chief's name and office address.

I just put right in my adds (50) That only cash in person is acceptable. They leave me alone. Now buying from a scammer can be a problem. I just bought a $18,000 rv off a guy and he said he wanted cash, i looked at his house on Google earth and walked up and down the street in front of his house. It didnt seem like a neighborhood for this higher end rv so I told him we would need to go to the local TD bank and sign the title in front of a notary and the bank would give him the cash, I was not going to bring any. Thats the way it went down. He didnt want to go to the bank but I knew a notary would check both our id,s and document our signatures on camera.

I've sold hundreds of items on Craigslist and in fact bought a boat with proceeds from Craigslist, a half dozen garage sales, and scrap (all possessions of my FIL). One just has to exercise caution.

Edit - just sold our car minutes ago (deposit taken). 8 days, second contact on CL, first person to see it, car listed above dealer retail price and sold above dealer retail price. Non-refundable deposit taken, 6 days to finalize sale. Buyer gave full name and work location, verified with LinkedIn profile, so had her and husband (with baby) come to the house since identity verified. Easy peasy.
