Default Optic ready glock?

The Sheriff is making all of us deputies carry glock .40 cal now. I've been carrying the hk vp9 since it came out but now I've got to shelf it for the piece of glock. Is there an optic ready glock and what can be done to make the trigger useable?

Yes to both. The MOS model is ready to accept a Trijicon RMR

Several aftermarket triggers are available if your department allows mods

I'm an HK guy, and I'm no fan of the VP9 trigger. You can get a better trigger for the Glock than the stock VP9

Valid point. Optics are EZ. If you ended up in court over a good shoot and opposing counsel caught wind of a modified trigger, they’d have a field day with that. Careful. For the record I own the same Glock and a 45. Both have modified stock triggers by a Glock Master Gunsmith. Big difference.

I was thinking just a different disconnect to make it more shootable. All glock I've shot before the triggers are horrendous. Do you know if they make duty holsters that will hold an optic?

A buddy on SWAT has one with the RMR on it and it is a VERY COOL setup... The Gen 5 Glocks have a removeable plate for it..

He had to buy a new Holster for it also.

The SWAT guy said head shots at 25 yards are so much easier and it has tightened his groups way up..
Also a side note, you will need the tall sites or suppressor sites so they are usable with a RMR on the gun.

Our policy allows mod'd triggers. They just can't be less than 5 pounds and have to be done by a certified armorer.

As far as the trigger, polishing the connector and other trigger parts with a Roto tool and metal polish goes along way to smoothing out trigger pull. Another buddy does it to all his Glock, think you tube, wink wink..

Oh yeah I didn't even think about that. I would have to have a back up set of sights so I'd need the suppressor ones.

I've got the 2 Glocks here:

Glock G19 Gen 3
Crimson Trace laser grip
Apex trigger kit
Apex Trigger American Flag ( only 1 they made, won in a contest )

Glock G19 MOS Gen 4
Trijicon RMR 07
Silencerco threaded barrel
Zev Compensater
Agency Trigger
Dawson Sights co-witness supresser height

From my perspective, the Apex trigger feels better to me in every way, take-up, crisp break, shorter reset.
The CT grip is nice , but the Trijicon RMR is in fact the best add on I ever did to a handgun. Yes, tighter groups, much better long distance shooting, just miles above iron sights. Takes some getting used to, but once you get there you'll wonder how you shot without an RMR.
BUT,,, they're not for everyone, I've heard of guys that hate an RMR, to each his own. I'm 58 years old and my eyes LOVE the RMR.

Also, I thought the ZEV compensator was just looks and fluff but it really does help reduce muzzle flip.
Additionally on a side note, I own 3 Glocks and they have all had the undercut job on the trigger guard done and it makes a world of difference for me. I got Glock knuckle BAD before I found the solution that is undercutting !!!

I hate glocks, but absolutely love the RMR enough to fully customize a 19X with one. Adding MOD-K armory slide machining, trigger, threaded barrel, stippling, and cerakote.
