Before you even start you have to figure out whether you want salt water, then work from there. It divides the coast from inland. Then do you want a lake? You already say you want to stay away from big cities so that eliminates a lot of places.

St cloud. It's a booming city and they should buy my house so I can get the hell out of here. But seriously there is a 50 plus neighborhood that is going up and it's a descent area.

crime in Broward county is below Miami for sure but the good part (for older folks) is the west side is mostly elderly. We do business in this area a lot and my brother in law is the maint supervisor for one of the communities with 10 bldgs. Very quiet area. LEO and city inspectors are always roaming around.

Lots of folks in the Villages get rid of their cars and just buy a nice golf cart. You can access everything you need by golf cart.

They do have a great car show once a month.

I used to know some old timer ranchers there,they said back in the day they used to tie trespassers to a tree and let the sheriff know the next time they were in town where they were.

That place has done 180 flip in the last 10 years,Kinda sad really.

If they're coming to Florida I would say Jacksonville, and not a mile South of there

In general anything South of Orlando the East Coast = NY, West Coast = OH.

North of Orlando = South GA.

Orlando = Mickey

State should be cut in half Orlando being the Mason Dixon line.

BTW - that STD thing in the villages, that was a great marketing scheme/urban legend to get people to move there. Funny how it still makes the rounds - like well...an STD.

Have them move to Orlando; it already sucks so they'll feel right at home.

The "Redneck" section should have a "Country Boy" sub-section.

Stopped in there at a fast food restaurant - for the kids about 10 years ago. Asked for a packet of ketchup or something along those lines after getting their food. 3 - 4 young workers looked at me like I had 3 heads on my shoulder. When I asked again they uttered some sound that was foreign to me. Understood them perfectly then

First time I went to Kissimmee, they had hitching posts on the main street. Look at it now. !/2 the town needs to be bulldozed.
