Wife and daughter / Greece

My daughter will graduate HS next May and a trip for graduation is in the plans. My wife and daughter have always been intrigued by Santorini, Greece. They have never traveled internationally and I have my reservations about sending them alone on this trip. There may be another mother/daughter with them but not for sure. I don't think they want to spend anytime in Athens so it would probably be ATL-Istanbul-Athens and then flight or ferry to Santorini. I'm really not comfortable about them being by themselves. Thoughts/advice?

They'll be just fine. Purses stay within their clothes (Under their jacket, blouse, etc.) Super vigilant at night, no dark allies, stay on populated streets. Best if they hire a trusted guide to escort them around....see post #2

As much help as you gave me regarding our trip to the keys I'm sure you would make a fine guide. The more I look into this trip the more I want to go. It looks amazing there. I think I may tell them I really don't think its safe so I will have to go also.

Greece is bankrupt. Crime is at an all time high. It's a long plane ride.
Stay in the States. Keep America Great...again.

So to comfort you during their absence, I'll bring the steaks and wine and you put the roof over my head AND I'll put you on my very best YT spot AND a good grouper spot.

A couple of days on Santorini is plenty. We did that and a couple days in Athens for the architecture, a couple of days in Mykonos. Then a few days in Germany to decompress. Weirdest thing about Greece is not flushing the head, the sewer systems cannot hand it.
