Default Incredible Experience on Engagment Ring and Watch from THT'er Freedbaby

Just wanted to give a huge shout out to Jay AKA Freedbaby. I recently had some great experiences working with him on an engagement ring and also new Rolex purchase. I have always been uncomfortable with buying Jewelry and most the time I just punted and bought from Costco. One of the many benefits of this great Forum is it brings together boaters from all over the country and various professions who have one common interest. All things Boating. I had noticed over several years now how well Freedbaby had represented himself and I remembered reading some years ago about him opening his own shop or something like that and a few members had posted positive experiences. So as the time came for me to buy an engagement ring I thought about where to go and given this time I had a strong design idea I knew I needed an actual Jeweler to be able to execute this vision. Rather than trying to find someone local I PM'd Freedbaby. He was super cool and laid back and pretty much just educated me on the process in the beginning. I shared some pics of what I was trying to accomplish and over a month or two we exchanged some texts and a few phone calls which ended up being half ring design talk and half about boating in our respective regions. When the time came to pull the trigger he was prompt and turned the CAD design into a work of art in short order. Days later I had an amazing piece in hand. It was a super smooth and incredible experience.

Fast forward a couple months and I reach out to let him know how happy she was with the ring as I had just proposed. Took a few months to find that perfect timing. I mention that his thread on "what's on your wrist today" had caught my attention and as a current Omega Seamaster owner I was ready to step my game up a bit. We talked over what I was trying to find and having little success or had concerns over legitimacy of the sellers. We talked over the two models of Rolex I was interested and he dropped some valuable knowledge on me and within a few hours had found me a new in box with tags Rolex BLNR en route to his office and he would forward on to me once inspected. Having had such a great experience with the engagement ring design and building that relationship I was much more comfortable with him sourcing me a hard to find piece vs me randomly scouring the internet doing my own due diligence.

If you are in the market for a custom jewelry piece or nice watch and like to talk boats I highly suggest you give THT'er Freedbaby (Jay) a call as he is the real deal. Attached is the design process and a pic of the custom work he did for me. And yes I got on one knee while on the boat.

Thanks again Jay.

Nice looking ring! Wishing you all the best for a wonderful marriage.

A pleasure working with Jay on a custom necklace for the wife on our 25th anniversary, which we will celebrate April 17th!

Beyond first class service.

Jay is the man, I reached out to him in like November I couldn't find diamond horseshoe earrings for my daughter. He did a design and rushed getting them out in perfect time for Christmas. With better diamonds then I could find locally.
He is the goto jewelry guy going forward.

Default Same here!

Yep, same experience on my end. After reading thru "what's on your wrist", I called Jay about an inherited vintage Rolex I had.

I ended up sending it to him for new acrylic and evaluation. Came back perfect with a personalized note for my son, as it will be a graduation gift to him.

Jay is top notch, no doubt.

The man does great work, out of my budget.
I hope my wife does not discover him.

I'm by far....the poorest person on this site and Jay really took care of my bride with my measly budget. There's not a person in the world he can't help.

Congrats OP, many blessing for a long and happy marriage.

If I may....

One simple rule if followed will guarantee a long marriage.

NEVER EVER go to bed angry.

My wife would love that! Wonder if he works with pot metal and cubic zirconias?
