Default Different name but nothing changes. Spectrum

After years of being away from Cable I decided to give them another chance. Really want the faster internet speed.
So, I signed up 2 weeks ago. Scheduled the installation for today at noon. Receive at least 5 automated phone calls that the appointment is still good. Received 3 this morning wanting me to make sure someone would be here at noon. Receive a phone call at 11:30 saying the technician was on the way. THEN... an hour later I received a call from the technician saying he was out of parts and we need to reschedule for next week. WTF? NOTHING CHANGES FROM THE OLD CABLE COMPANY.

I have to say that I have had far better experiences with Spectrum than I did with Time Warner. Better equipment and lower prices.

I really switched so I could get the 200mp internet service. I just found out that you can only record 2 shows at a time and must have a DVR on all the TVs. Still stone age equipment.

Spectrum outsources many of their installations to private contractors. So it may be the contractor not Spectrum. My old neighbor was an outsourced installer. But not sure if it's that way in all areas. He also said that Spectrum recently lowered his pay per install so he was going to look for work elsewhere. So maybe that had something to do with it? Either way, is not good customer service.

If you get the new style box and router you can record more than two shows while watching a different channel but the quality does go down quite a bit. The cable lines can only pull so much data and everything is HD now using a lot more bandwith.

You have to have a box on every TV because they are going full digital. No way around that and it's the same with Fios or whatever that other company is called.

It's actually the opposite of stone age equipment people just need to learn to change with the times. The speeds and signals are much improved over just 5 years ago.

With Dish and Centurylink everything in the house is wireless back to the router. With Spectrum you have to run cable to each TV. Still stone age compared to Dish and Direct. The cable box is the original old box from years ago.
The only advantage is the internet speed so I have to go with Spectrum.

Currently have Spectrum fiber to the house. I’ll add my Google Fiber experience as a comparison in a few months. Google just started laying cable in my development. It will be interesting. My neighborhood also has fiber from Frontier available. I haven’t tried Frontier.
