Ok this is a little freaky.... yesterday morning I asked my wife if she knew who Hawking is, of course she didn't and asked me why. I said I have followed the guys readings & he just popped into my head. And because he believed there is a higher power but us humans have not progressed far enough in our intelligence to let it be revealed. He is the only super genius that believed there was a higher power & not that we all evolved from primordial goo.

Then I read online today that he died!

Brilliant mind. He was our closest theorist in time travel, at least publicly, AI dangers, and never shied away from offending people with his brazen opinions on God. That alone pushed existential anxiety in the face.

Not sure about that.
One of his quotes is:

We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.

Another I like:

I have no idea. People who boast about their IQ are losers.

The higgs debacle is very interesting, gave me tremendous respect for Hawkings when he admitted he lost the bet.

Why would you think that someone has to be intelligent to believe in fairy tales?
