Default The 80s Cruise-Any THT'ers Going?

We did this one last year, it was an absolute ball with a variety of 80s themed nights, kinda like getting dressed up for Halloween, a ton of fun with several great bands performing. This year has a different lineup with Rick Springfield, Mike & The Mechanics, Loverboy, The Tubes, Lou Graham from Foreigner, Berlin, Thomas Dolby etc. Curious if anyone else going?

Looks like a good time.

Just throwing this thread back on board as we are booked once again, this will be our 3rd consecutive 80's Cruise...would love to hear some other THT members are going ,this one departs Ft. Lauderdale March 2...totally different lineup this year as well as cruise itinerary....this will be our almost 30th cruise and it has been the most FUN one to date, just like a time travel experience....the lead cover band Jessie's Girl just puts the crowd in the mood and you dance the day...or when they play at night... away....anyway, killer tunes, outfits, big hair, small dresses, makeup, leggings...you know it! Just so many great tunes from that decade!

Enjoy the music and cruise!

Say hi if you see my light blue/white top VW bus at the beach.

My wife and I talked about doing it or a similar one with other 80s bands but had to pass after her eye surgery.

We did The Rock Boat 2 years ago. Definitely a good time. Cruise is a bit more, bit not your average cruise. If you really like the band lineup it is non stop fun. Get the drink package, then plan to dry out for a week or two after the cruise! Have fun.

Yup, just a ton of fun...sorry to hear you cant make it RCL, best of luck with the surgery and recovery. SkiBum will definitely look for your van while in Cozumel...that is the night Kenny Loggins will be performing while Team Caddyshack takes on Team Top Gun, just one of the many dress up theme nights while on board. Other artists include STARSHIP, OMD, The FIXX, The English Beat (great ska/reggae band), Berlin with Terri Nunn, Sheila E., Cutting Crew, Grandmaster Flash, Club Nouveau. We booked this cruise while on board last year's 80s cruise and received discounted rates along with a free drink package, could not pass it up! Everybody Wants Some I Want Some Too---so many great songs will be done by the cover band Jessie's Girl who really put on a Vegas type show.

More like alcohol infused -- just about everything seems to happen on board but more singing and dancing than really anything else....as Olivia sang, lets get PHYSICAL!!!

I did a Moodie Blues cruise a year ago...good time. Everyone on the cruise had similar interests, similar age group. No pot allowed, though.

Thanks I appreciate it. She s already had her corneal transplant and in the recovery phase. Shes doing good, just has some minor issues with being out in the sunlight too long. but that and anything else she has issues with will resolve themselves by the time the last stitches cone out.

This is probably one of the few times where I felt like I went back in time for a little while. yes the drinks have something to do with it but the ship is all done up with 80s stuff spray painted on walls with various posters, sayings, people decals like Ferris and other etc. and everybody is dressed up as some character from a band or movie...you see Vince Neil from Motley Crue, Madonna, David Lee Roth, Prince, whoever, Ronald Reagan, Long Duck Dong from Pretty in Pink, just all sorts of stuff and the cover band just rocks the sail away party to get it all going! It really is just FUN in a huge singalong kinda way, just everyone in a great mood....hard to find that elsewhere and probably why we keep going back on board....this year I am putting together another great Adam Ant outfit, my wife will be a Robert Palmer girl once again and the other night I will be Eddie Van Halen and she will be the mermaid from the movie Splash! Killer stuff and I must say the ladies on board get done up very nicely. Always lots to plan, its not a bring your bathing suit and shorts only kind of cruise but we really love it and we are setup for Halloween outfits later in the year.

The 80s was the most fun decade of my life. I worked my ass off putting myself through college on my own dime, and launching my professional career, but damn did I party my ass off.
