Default I hate Valentines Day

This "holiday" is a total sham. Most holidays I think are useless but this one takes the cake.

For an early birthday present, I "gave" The Warden some trolling squid skirts. She was happy. For Valentines, I "gave" The Warden some trolling squid storage boxes. She was happy.

Now I need to get everything put together.....her trolling mahi/squid lures.....by Easter.

I guess saying it in person is to difficult.

My wife hates flowers and the holiday. I bought her a $13 big ass balloon at the supermarket and will grill some steaks tomorrow. Problem solved.

At least Valentines has some basis and some history. If you think this one's bad, what do you think about Sweetest Day?? That one was totally concocted to boost sales of greeting cards!!

I don't really mind it. Wife and I usually exchange small gifts or concert tickets that we would have gotten anyways. Cards are the scam to me, but my wife likes them, so it's $5 I don't mind spending.

Plus it's an excuse to drink wine and go at it on a weeknight

I'm on a business trip this week so I took the wife out to dinner on Saturday night, and made sure to leave her card and candy out yesterday before I left town. I did not order roses this year, but we have a dozen plus rose plants at our house that I constantly tend to.
