Default Fat Tuesday/gettin some bugz

I live relatively close to a "upscale" cajun spot here in tampa, they are having a crawfish boil and some bands and $1 oysters today after work. Guess how much they want for 2 pounds of boil? $25

Gonna give it a shot cause mardi gras only comes once a year but didn't think crawfish for that weight were that expensive.

What beer goes best with them? thinking of picking up some and eating them on the porch- 80 degrees out today.

Boiled at around $35 for 5 pounds right now and I live near a ton of ponds. So $25 for two pounds over there isn’t that bad. I like a light beer with crawfish. Nothing too heavy to mess with the taste of the bugs.

2lbs of crawfish is only enough to get you pissed off. Not even worth the hassle.

That price is about 5x as much as they are here in SW Louisiana.

Now the $1 for the oysters, I would tear that up. How many do you get for a buck?

Ummm..... $35 for 5lbs averages out to $7 a lb. $25 for 2lbs averages out to $12.50 a lb. Your price is much better than what babyfisher92 is getting them for.

Does that include the corn, mushrooms, sausage and garlic?

I haven't bought crawfish in a year or so but last I looked it was around $3 / lb live and $5 / lb cooked at R&R's on the causeway in mobile

Uh... one. its $1 per oyster ha, I normally get 2 dozen and a couple beers during happy hour. Again place is in my backyard.

So I guess the crawfish deal isn't bad, but yes that comes with corn and potatoes.

I didnt say my price wasnt better. I am right in the middle of crawfish land. He is in coastal FL, so the price he is paying is not too bad. As an aside I bought 5 pounds last weekend at DI's in Basile and they were $35.

Not sure about the price for crawfish, but that does seem high to me.
$1 per oyster is way too high. I'd go broke at that price and still be hungry.
