Default Anybody Know Someone Competing In The Olympics?

Being from Lake Placid, home of many of the US winter olympic training, center we have many participants in the games. Unfortunately the US bobsled team lost one of the best drivers in the world, Steve Holcomb, a few months ago. He died in his sleep at the training center. Very sad story!

We have high hopes for Andrew Weibrecht of the US ski team to medal again in the Super G this Wednesday. He currently has two medals from previous games. We call him “Warhorse” and he is a master at super g. There are only 1500 residents in this town so everyone knows everyone. He loves fishing. If he’s not at home or training he’s on the water. Our whole town will be watching Wednesday night! Anyone else have a friend participating?

Grew up near Brattleboro, Vermont, nordic ski capital of the east jumping and xc racing. Competed in Lake Placid a few times. Many of the people I competed with have their kids racing now - Caldwell, Dunklee, and a few others.

The wife told me there is a female ski jumper from a town about an hour away.

Otherwise, no.
