Default How to change barbers?

First off this is just like a Seinfeld episode except it happened today in real life.

I have been getting my hair cut from the same women for 30+ years, she does my wife's hair also and they have become friends. Not real close friends but they see each other outside of the barber shop.

I have a job interview Monday that I just found out about this morning so I stopped at the hair place but the girl that has cut my hair forever was not in so I asked another women if she could do it this one time. I don't understand why but I really hate switching barbers so I was a little worried about how good of a job she was going to do.

What a total difference experience, she was very gentle and took her time. The regular girl pushes the razor down hard on my head and is just rough and I don't look forward to my haircut. She has nicked both of my ears more than once but like I said I don't like to switch who cuts my hair.

The new girl is not only much hotter but she trimmed up my facial hair which I have never had done with the regular girl. She rubbed my shoulders for a good 5 minutes and she asked if I wanted her to shampoo my hair to make sure all of the little cut hairs were gone!

Just like on Seinfeld the new girl did a way better job, my head didn't hurt after and I wasn't worried about her cutting my ears. The face trimming was an extra bonus, the should rub was an extra extra bonus, and the shampoo after cutting my hair was like a super bonus. I want to go to her all the time now but they both work at the same place, in fact their chairs are right next to each other.

I'm sure that has happened to more people than Seinfeld and me so how did you make a switch......? ;?

I can't find a stylist or barber that stays at the same shop for more than six months.

Same boat here
Family friend owns a salon
35 for the cut and 10 for a tip I spend about 550 a year there
I like it because I'm scheduled every month for about 6 months out and they call me the day before to remind me which is great

My complaint is he likes to talk and sometimes I walk out of there with barely any cut at all or uneven side burns
Everyone keeps telling me to give him another chance and I'm not being fair

I miss the $10 haircut I could get at the female barber in college. Included a straight razor and that old school green aftershave.

I thought of that but my wife said they don't keep the same schedules, one may take off a Wednesday another take off a Friday. How would I know when my regular girl is off? ;?

These 2 girls have moved with each other to different hair places 4 times now. They are close friends with each other.

Geez like I didn't see this comment coming. A little sooner than I thought but I knew it was just a matter of time. I happen to be more sensitive to peoples feelings. Beside that I am sure I will have to hear about from my wife.

Oh yeah regular girl charges $22 and the new girl $15 and I always give a $5 tip.

ask the girl you want your hair cut by, she will know .
after all they are in the same shop.

But then I would tell the new girl that you loved the way she took care of you and want her to be you cutter, then ask what would be the best way to tell the other one.

$45 for a hair cut?, what other benefits are you getting?, there better be a happy ending in there somewhere.

Your going to piss off your regular girl. She is going to take it out on your wife’s hair. You are going to be in trouble at home as well. Taking a mistress screws up more than 1 life. You need to break it off with the new girl before it gets serious.

All three of these responses are 100% spot on and accurate, seriously Russ your not in HS any more. Next time your in the shop, ask for the new girl, when the other one comes over, politely explain you've changed cuters, no hard feeling I hope!

WTH do you care what she thinks!!!

Now....Re-read those three posts over and over again until your Mojo is back!

Learn to cut your own hair! Never had a barber cut my hair the way I asked.

Go at the same time your wife does. She will be busy with your wife and you can get the other girl to cut it.

If the barber is not also your bookie or something, just go to another barber shop.
BTW for $45 I would expect a hand job. I think I pay $13-14 for the haircut and I give the guy or girl a $20. It is seldom the same person because these are contractors and they turn over pretty fast.
