Default Cutting the cord, outdoors channels?

I'm beginning to sort out how we can cut the cord at my house. Going to go to internet only (high speed), Netflix, and download movies/series I want to watch to my laptop.

Does anyone have a solution to streaming the outdoor channels? It's literally the only thing I would miss.

Specifically: Outdoor Channel, World Fishing Network, and Sportsman Channel

Its been a little while since I had it but Roku had a lot of Blair Wiggans stuff on there for free. Also had the Keys channel and some other fishing shows that were smaller and more localized. Search Roku channels on their site. You won't have to buy anything if Roku is on your smart TV. If not they start at around $30 from what I remember for the box or stick.

I did it a while ago and now to satisfy my outdoors tv needs I have the Waypoint TV app and the Pursuit channel app on my Fire TV. Hope that helps.

Sling orange plus sportsman has the outdoor channels for $30/month. Cut the cord a few months ago and went sling with amazon prime. Went to higher speed internet to handle all 3 TV’s streaming at same time. Best decision ever was to cut the cord.

We just switched to YouTube TV for $35/month. Overall very pleased but I do miss the outdoor channels and my wife misses HGTV. We do have Bravo and Tennis Channel, which we’re very important to her. I think you can subscribe to the Outdoor Channel(s) for $99/year through their web site.

You should look into a Skystream box , I've had mine for a few years and really like it . I mostly use it for new movies ( most still in theaters ), but also watch a lot of fishing shows on it . Biggest plus for me is being able to run it through my home audio system as another cable box .

It also streams free PPV , sports , and tv shows . It's an android based box with apps , and Skystream does updates frequently .

If it's on the internet , you can stream it with this for free . Why pay for it ?

If you have an apple device like a laptop and an Apple TV box, you can mirror whatever is on your laptop to the TV. I find Netflix and some sites much easier to use that way than the app on Roku.

You can also pay for HBO and Showtime by themselves with a streaming device and get all those series.

Getting ready to cut the cord on Direct TV real soon and buy an HDTV antenna to pick up the 17 local channels I should get for free according to the net..

FIOS can kiss my a$/.
They got rid of World Fishing Network a year or so ago. When I called I got Bob from India who told me Pursuit channel was just like WFN.
I use waypoint tv now.

Let me revive this a little. This is what I have:

Samsung SmartTV - Can run Netflix right from this as well as other limited apps
Plex - For downloading and streaming movies (has app on Samsung)
FireStick - Pursuit and Waypoint TV for this?

The only thing that sucks is MyOutdoorTV only has apps for Apple and Android. From what I'm hearing you can download a browser app for Firestick and go that route? Any input?

Actually, just noticed with Sling Orange I can get the basic for $20 and add the outdoor channels for $5.

$25 for Sling Orange (get some cool normal channels as well as outdoor)
$10 for Netflix

What are you guys paying typically for highspeed internet?

$35 + $70 for high speed internet could be a deal breaker for me. At that point I'm over $100. Paying $140 now but I assume that will jump to some ridiculous number soon.

So further update:

Called my cable company (Optimum). I'm currently paying $133 a month for TV, phone (not even hooked up) and internet. I called up and asked how much it would be if I drop the cable and phone, leave the 100 mbps internet. They said $89. Not really a lot of savings here.

Anyone have any thoughts?
