Default Valentines Idea's for the Mrs. / Miss./ Ms. in your life!

I haven't done flowers or chocolate for decades now, way too conventional, but am truly running out of idea's.

For those of you who don't do the usual this time of year, what do you do? Yes, I understand it's a made-up day for the ladies, but if it helps to keep them happy, I'm all in.

Some of my previous idea's where:

Painting class with friends where you bring the alcohol...$40...she loved that!
Dancing lessons, Lord did I hate that, but she loved it.
Surprise camp out on the beach, that was awesome.
Moonlight run with the boat, with picnic.
Group pottery class with all her friends, she loved that as well.

I've done all the spa days, flowers, candy, Disney, we both hated that one!

Lets hear the unusual, think way out of the box things you've done for your better half. Also, for all the Gay / lesbian couples here, would love to hear from you as well, you tend to be much more creative in the gift giving area IMHO.

Yes I know I'm gonna take heat over that last sentence, could care less, so spare me the insults please!

I used to do the dinner, flowers and card thing, but lately my wife agreed she does not need that stuff as she knows I love her.

I still get her at least a card every VDay.

My bride says the exact same thing and I've done the "card only" thing many times, but it just seems like she's happier with a surprise out of the ordinary. A couples or group thing mostly, she loves people and has many close friends.

I, on the other hand love my dog more than most people.

Make her something yourself:

you can make bath bombs

bath salts

etc

it will likely mean more to her than something you could buy

Mine's b-day is very very close to v-day so there's no easy out for me .. .

Back in the day I had a girlfriend that really went out of her way for me. I showed up at her house to take her to dinner for Valentine’s Day. On her front door was an envelope.... it said follow along for a surprise at the end. It had a piece of paper telling me to go to one of the local restaurants... I got there and picked up a salad with another piece of paper telling me to go to the liquor store and another piece of paper telling me to go , well you get the picture. She sent me to about 10 places and while I was out picking up that stuff she was at my house. She had set up 100 candles and strewn rose petals all over the place. When I got home she met me at the door in her f¥€K me suit. She was ripe and very ready. I don’t think we even ate the dinner.

She was crazy. Loved her but man was she nuts.

You could do a variation of this and get real brownie points.

Always a great idea, which I've done in a similar form minus all the driving around.

Scavenger hunt that ends with my junk!!!! Look I made a rime. Don't have to tell you that the crazy one's are THE best in the sack!

About a dozen of us (so far) are riding our scoots to a nice restaurant for V-Day lunch.
Three pounds or so of her favorite chocolates from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
Cannon Rebel with 3 lenses and carry case full of stuff (going to be interesting watching her learn that damn thing, and I'm no help).

That's a neat idea, not into crowds but that should be fun! You bought her a new camera, Nice! We're not doing any chocolates this year, Iv'e lost over 58 lbs so far and want to keep that going.

Hot air balloon ride. There's a few choices here in central FL and this is the time of year to do it. I don't recall the costs, just Google it.

I believe we are going to a steakhouse with another couple the day after Valentine's to avoid crowds.

I'll probably get her flowers, wine, and chocolate, as per usual.

Ok. How about suggestions when I've only been with her for 2 months? Don't want to lay it on too heavy. She's not a big drinker, and doesn't eat candy. Marathon runner. Was thinking about a picnic and flowers, but I need to get my shit together quick.

What ever you do, don't buy cheap chocolate. Support your local chocolate shop and not Walmart or Sherries Berries. I left a career in the environmental consulting field and bought a small chocolate business in the Smokies. It has it's ups and downs like most things in life. Valentine's is big for us and we market locally. So, if you get her the usual make it good and not a chain or big box stores Chocolate.

A vacuum cleaner but class it up with her initials scribed on the handle.
A bowling ball with your picture on it.
A boat!
