I could say the same about you, you sound like one of the disgruntled lawyers who got fired.

Unfortunately the people with personal experience in both cases are dead.

I dont know anything about it but how many of you have been on a boat that sunk and your mother died and then had an uncle get shot? 100 years ago he would be guilty and in jail already. Sounds fishy but on the other hand its very hard to get away with anything these days- hard to believe he could be totally clean but if he is out and about its probably because he is.

So that makes him automatically not guilty in your eyes since he has no experience in either of those cases.

Just my observations

He drills holes in the stern of the boat with a hole saw. Then went to the canyon
Boat is “ sinking” . He has time to put supplies on the raft but can’t find his mother. It’s an open boat with just a pilot house, no cabin.
He spends a week on a lift raft, then climbs up a rescue ladder like a walk in the park.
I spent 3 days on a raft in open ocean. After 2 days your body is jello

I’m not buying any of it.

Exactly, and now he is showing emotion for the first time when money is involved.

I see the difference, look at the title of the thread, i think he’s guilty. That’s the beauty of freedom of speech, we are all entitled to our opinions, have a good one.

This is a major part of the story I have problems with. Not saying the rest of the story makes him look innocent. He’s guilty as they come.

+1. I'm as big an 'innocent until proven guilty' guy as they come, but this story stinks all the way around (and that's without getting into what happened to his grandfather).

If his mother's death wasn't premeditated, then it's at least manslaughter.

He has Asperger's syndrome.

"Individuals with AS and related disorders exhibit serious deficiencies in social and communication skills. Their IQ’s are typically in the normal to very superior range. They are usually educated in the mainstream, but most require special education services. Because of their naivete, those with AS are often viewed by their peers as “odd” and are frequently a target for bullying and teasing."

Just an innocent young man waiting for his 7 Mil

The AS description is accurate. My son has AS.
It takes getting used to and those who've not experience this behaviour definitely make negative judgments based on what they consider normal.
In this case as with most cases the emotional display of the suspect doesnt mean much.
Personally I think this kids is guilty, but not because of a perceived emotional response. More to do with the circumstances being what seems to be highly improbable.
That's what the courts are for as inefficient as they maybe.
