Default Great Singing Voices

Ok, we've got the SRV thread where y'all have given your input into whom you believe is/are the greatest guitarists ever.

Now I'll ask, "Who has the best voice?" My personal favorite and I believe one of the greatest if not the greatest voice in Rock and Roll is Steve Perry. Simply unbelievable voice.

What say you?

A little off the beaten path, but Simone Simons of Epica has an incredible voice.

This is complex because to be a frontman / singer, you need the whole package. Its not just about voice, but also attitude, lifestyle fits the role and on stage antics. So I'll need to submit two choices

Fave rock singer: David Coverdale,

Fave frontman: Axl Rose

I know a lot of people hate Axl, but I went to the GnR concert this summer and his entire band just blew me away. They looked and sounded great and they played for nearly four hours straight. Started at 8:30 and didn't stop till almost 12:30, it was amazing. Close second would be Diamond Dave back in the day.

Morgan James.
A treat for the eyes and the ears. Unbelievable range and the ability to cover every genre of music without missing a beat.
A very subjective topic, of course....

Amen.

Greatest voice in the history of rock... The one who was the first, best & STILL the biggest rock star in history... They don't call him THE KING for nothing!!!

The greatest "frontman" in rock, as described like above? (Voice, presence, charisma, showmanship etc...) the one & only Freddie Mercury of Queen!

Case closed, end of discussion, lock this thread, it's OVER!

Freddie mercury probably first, amazing chops uses his full range in many songs
Chris Cornell and Steve Perry hard to argue

I would add Chris Stapleton for country

Not what I would listen to but:

Whitney pre crack
Stevie Nicks, Not much range but unique sound
Gaga has surprisingly good voice
Axel
Mariah Carey
Art Garfunkle

Jackie Evancho - ridiculously good

Chris Cornell

Freddie Mercury

Elvis Presley

Witney Houston

Pink. Listen to her folk music and you'll see why I mention her.

Luciano Pavarotti

So many more

Freddy Mercury was a freak of nature.

In their prime, Grace Slick and Robert Plant weren't too bad.
