Default Speaking of traffic laws....

Just read the 4 way stop thread. Heres another that seems to be completely unknown.

When turning onto a multiple lane street, you are required to pull into the first available lane.
If its a multiple lane turn lane, stay in your lane throughout the turn.

Commercial driving, I'm restricted from the left 2 lanes on 95 from Palm beach county on down to Dade.
If someone is going 50 in my fast lane and the left lane is wide open, I can't use it, must pass to the right where all traffic is merging.
I Don't trust FHP to to give me a break, they're clueless anymore.
Very frustrating!
My rant.

How about stay out of the left lane unless you are passing

Or don't put misfocused and overbright headlights or LEDs on the front of your car so I'm not blinded at night by you?

If you are making a left turn onto a 2 lane road, you should turn into the left lane of that 2 lane road if there is a broken white line through the turn you are supposed to follow.
So many people turn into the right lane, LEO are known t give tickets for that in our area.
In a perfect world a car could turn left into the left lane and another could make a right turn
into the right lane at the same time.

In Bellingham WA, I-5 is 2 lanes , the on ramp merger lanes are very short, big trucks get in the left lane while going through town, it's the smart move, everyone with a clue just goes with it, not a big town, you are through it in a few minutes.

While were at it how about getting rid of the led lights on cop cars and the red brake lights on the back of ambulances. Nothing bothers me more when driving than being blinded.

YEARS AGO, I actually got pulled over for not doing this. I made a right turn into the inside lane. Only thing that I got was a lecture about proper turning procedures, fortunately.

That's like one of those intersections where the lane is marked "right turn only", even though the pavement goes straight though the intersection. At that intersection, the 2nd lane is allowed to make a right turn too, so they force the right-most lane to make a right.

Nothing new here either. It's been in the manual that no one ever reads.

Also, if there is a double solid yellow line on a four lane road, you cannot turn left into businesses/shopping centers by crossing the yellow line. Mofos clog up south dale mabry EVERY TIME.

Not in my state. That's 100% legal.

Same here. Can't pass on a double-solid yellow, but no restrictions on turning left.

What's even weirder... in that same google link, just up the road there is the same double-yellow line dividing the highway, but there is a left turn lane with a left turn arrow painted on the road.

Are you sure it's really illegal to turn left on this road with the double-yellow line??

How about we bar small towns in SC from annexing roadway outside of their city limits, and bar them from artificially setting low speed limits for revenue production purposes.

If a town can't afford their PD without gouging every passing motorist with their speed trap, they simply shouldn't have one, and let the sheriffs department handle things there.

So, using your posted image, are you suggesting the only legal way to get into that shopping center is to continue down the road until you get to San Carlos, where the line is finally broken, turn left into that parking lot, then turn around and go back to the shopping center? Then when you are done shopping, you have to make a right turn out of the parking lot, continue on that road back to Neptune, where you make a left, then an immediate left into that parking lot, then reverse your course back past the original shopping center?

Can you imagine the mess that would make if that were truly the law, and everyone followed it?

In my case, I was making a simple right turn at a stop sign from a 2 lane side road onto a 4 lane road.

Continue down until a light or median turn lane yes. When you stop in the middle of a through lane the traffic backs all the way up, clogs lights, and causes accidents as people aren't expecting left turns at 5PM when there is no way you are going to be able to "safely" cross

Had a minor accident with another motorist over this very rule, I made a left and stayed in my lane (left) he made a right and drifted wide and clipped my rear quaterpanel and tail light.

He was a nice older guy, I was ready to sell my 10 yr old car in about a month, it had a small dent there prior to his tap, so I asked him to pay for the taillight which I got from Ebay for $50 and installed myself.

We both left happy.

Alright so I mispoke, you apparently can make a left if its SAFE to do so, but if anyone here as driven south on dale mabry, this is so dangerous with the rate of speed cars coming toward you and behind you not paying attention... BUT I also saw someone get lit up by a cop trying to make a left when traffic got backed up to a light and he couldn't turn...
