I just sent a picture of this gun to my new (4 month) son in law and told him if he wants to stay in the family this birthday gift would go a long ways.

9mm carbines are becoming very popular at my local range.

I think it's ugly compared to the ar9 style platform. But will surely be a good seller for Ruger.

No thanks...they obviously pussed out and made it as not to ever offend the anti 2nd amendment crowd other than the detachable mag..... If I want a 9mm I will stick with one based on the AR platform as it will keep my skills sharp....My projection is it won't be a big seller..

My father in law was raving about this today. He wants to buy one. I'm not crazy over it. Like the look of a traditional AR.

But the AR look is so........ yesterday. LOL
Carbines are just fun to shoot for some reason. I enjoy shooting the Mini 14 over the AR and have both.
But a gunsmith told me 20 years ago that a Mini 14 will be worn out after 2000 rounds and the AR is just broken in. True or not I don't know.

Nice that it will adapt to Glock mags. May be on the radar.

I don't know Cracker, the quick breakdown makes it a great travel/truck gun !

I am on the other side. I think its cool, but would look better with a wood stock. Feeling a little old right now.

I've got a Hi-Point carbine in 9mm. I shot a bunch of rounds after first getting it but it's been a safe queen ever since.

I think Id prefer an AR pistol in 5.56 with a "brace" over the Ruger Take down 9mm

For me, I would like to have a CZ Scorpion. I have been waiting for them to come down in price.

yup, saw that in an issue of Guns magazine I got today. I'm a CZ guy but like the idea of a "pistol" format in 5.56
