Undaunted Courage- Its about the Lewis and Clark expedition. Never realized all they had to endure to make the voyage.

I read Horse soldiers. It was a great book. Movie is out on the 19th. 12 strong.

I may have seen a post here, but I was looking at getting the book "The Road" earlier this week, looks like a good one. Post apocalyptic journey of a dad and his son to survive.

Probably a little different than what your looking for but "Shoe Dogs" by Phil Night was excellent

Just finished "The Cuban Affair" by Nelson DeMille, was very good. Half way through "Origin" by Dan Brown so far its pretty good.

As someone in Florida I would consider "A Land Remembered" a must read.

Just finished "One Second After" and the follow up books. Also very good.

One second after and the follow up one year after

Savage Harvest by Carl Hoffman

True story of how the grandson of John D Rockefeller and son of Nelson Rockefeller came to be eaten by cannibals in New Guinea back in 1961. Absolutely you can't make this shit up story in a superbly written book.
It will leave you hungry for more....

Since you're a Florida guy all the Travis McGee books. Great character, good story teller.

I just re read James clavell's asian saga. Five books total, totally different story lines just all take place in Asia. If you have to pick one to start, "tai pan", or "king rat". Business, samurai, soldier themes.

I've offered a money back warranty on this one, and I'll do it here too. "crazy for the storm". One of the most powerful books I've ever read. About Survival, fathers and sons, and the outdoors.

I can't sleep without reading at least an hour a night, so I power through a lot of books.

Every book written by W.E.B. Griffin

Just finished The Panther , it was good , I like Nelson DeMille .
Try finding The Double Whammy , or the Tourist Trap , both good books .
