Default TMI (Male Dysfunction)

Since this a very Male oriented board..
I cannot think of a better place to Ask..

-->clears throat<---- eeerhhhmm

Some time back, I had Major blood clots in My Lower back/upper extremities...
Due to clotting via a ICV Filter, Not the ones you see the Lawsuits on, though another brand that was recalled 2 years after mine was "installed"..
(yes it is STILL installed)..
Went to UNC Chaple Hill for treatment..
Major lower veins catheterized, all the way up to the ICV filter, with lots of "draino" Heparin.

During this time (IT meaning my Penis),Is was also catheterized, (Urinary track)My whole stay there..
As I was about to be released, the RN "noted" the catheter was "inserted" wrong or some such as She was removing it for My Discharge, I opined (a lot during my stay), It was causing MUCH discomfort the whole time I was admitted...

Since the admission... I thought it was just "after affects" and things would get back too normal..
I NOW have, well incontinence (Not a lot just enough to make things very well, you can guess, (damp)...) My underwear.. During sleeping.
I also cannot achieve a full erection either.. I mean it's working, but blood isn't filling "IT" up as it should?
I mean the "feeling" as all there,, but, but IT only gets Halfway erect... Once I get into position with my misses, it just deflates...

I CANNOT change "Doctors" either, believe it or Not,(Due to My Insurance/health plan),, I have a racist black woman as a Primary Doctor, so anything I say, goes in one ear & out the other..
Over the course of time I also have been doing those "exercises" that's supposed to help..

Meds are a anti-coagulant.. (NOT a blood thinner) and Aspirin..
I gave up beer thinking it would help.. (it didn't)..
Any Ideas?
I'm only 54
HELP OR ADVICE??? !!!!
Any other MEN that may have/had something Similar?
Should I see..
Urologist or Vascular doctor? both?

Thank God My Wife understands...
BUT MY EGO... Is hurting.
Guys don't bash Me or make fun..

THIS IS SERIOUS!!! IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN..

Wish you the best. I had a terrible experience once being catheterized for surgery. Basically terrible pain and unable to pee after surgery - so they had to catheterize me again!

I was livid, and next surgery I had VERY long words with the doc prior to surgery about using a pediatric catheter and removing it gently. No problems that time, thank God.

My guess is they jam it in and yank it out with little care, since you are generally asleep or out of it. Bastards!

You can buy Depends Shields to manage the dampness. Swallow your pride and do it, no sense putting up with the inconvenience and dampness. One Shield should last you the entire day, as you describe your situation. A 7 week supply costs about $12.

As for the erection problem, since you are partially successful with this already, you can choose either Viagra or a penile injection that will help you succeed.

You will need a prescription for the Viagra or injection. Tell your doctor to write one up and don't take no for an answer. If necessary, bring your wife along and have her tell the doc to STFU and write.

Hopefully, this is a temporary situation that will resolve itself. But, you might consider a malpractice claim.

Holiday Express guy here....

As I understand it, the male urinary tract has 2 sphincter muscles (females have one) that control urinary flow. One at the base of the bladder and one in the prostate. I suspect in your case, your muscles are stretched or possibly damaged/injured by the diameter of the cath. You'll want to keep doing that Kegel exercises to strengthen one or both muscles. Pads will help with accidents.

Again with the erection....don't know. My prostate surgery killed my friend as dead as a hell. Your urologist would be the doctor of choice for a solution.

Kegels will strengthen the lower sphincter. Look up instructions about how to do these correctly. Maker a point of doing these and,if it helps, keep doing them for a year after the problem is resolved, then periodically afterwards. You can help with this from a physical therapist, takes a prescription.

You don't have to answer, but does "IT" work better with a 21 yr old? If so, you found your problem, if not, I'd be finding another MD.

I'm generally not a litigious person, but I gotta say I'd seriously consider a malpractice suit against whoever caused these injuries that may disrupt your sex life forever at age 54. That's a bunch of bullshit. Good luck.

Contact a LAWYER, thank me later. Any doctor who acts like that, is in the wrong business. I truly wish you the best.
