Default Star Wars VIII

You can skip Star Wars, same small resistance force attacks and kills much larger, First Order vessel, same, scene with alien people in bar/ casino, same scene with good and evil fight with light sabers, (why take a light saber to a gun fight?) same scene where the resistance escape to fight again, same move redone 8 times, I almost fell asleep, if it wasn't for the kids I would not have gone, you can stay away also, same same same

Thought it was okay, but they are too politically correct now. Ruins it for me.

Have to agree with the OP, and we (family) are fans.

Disappointed by latest installment. Very predictable script/storyline. Total re-hash.

Actually, not total re-hash. They have dropped almost all background story development, and just gone to all battles, all the time. Nearly non-stop battle sequences.

At some point soon, they are going to need to just end this...

Didn't like it that much. All male characters are flawed and consistently emasculated by the flawless female characters. What they did with Luke Skywalker was rediculous. The charachers are all left one dimensional. Who was Snoke? How did he become so powerful? Why did they just kill him off 1/2 way through the movie?

I actually did fall asleep for a while in the middle. I think you hit the nail on the head though.

I edited a portion of your post in my quote above, due to spoiler alerts.

But I agree. They have completely lost the bubble on the narrative. There is no storyline. No explanation on why there is a First Order and why the New Republic failed. I guess we're just supposed to accept that without questioning.

Maybe they are just making new movies for teenagers now, so they can experience a brand new Star Wars movie the way we did as kids? I suppose if that's their objective, they've set a low bar that they met.

Just saw it, is it me or was most of that movie cringe-worthy? Just felt very contrived and corny, I don't remember the earlier ones leaving me with that feeling. Giving it a light six only for special effects and scenery.

I agree with you. I can't remember being this disappointed in a movie that I was so looking forward to seeing.

No spoilers in this post.

Just saw it, 6.5 / 10. It was OK.

It was totally predictable and I nearly fell asleep in the middle. If it wasn't for some cheap special effects I would have.

I like VII better with JJ Abrams as the director. It was familiar, exciting, not an original story but VII left you with some major questions that made the next movie unpredictable.

After VIII, I feel I totally know whats going to happen next movie.

I am/was a Star Wars fans. Thought the original 3 were well done. The next 3 not bad but they tried to add a little too much comic relief with that stupid Jar Jar character.

Was sort of hoping this last movie would wrap it all up and be done...nope..left it open at the end for more of the same. So while I enjoyed the movie for the most part some of the comic relief is forced...that stupid bird riding along in the Falcon. Not really what the originals were meant to be in my opinion and it goes along with George Lucas being cut off of the process now.

So I am reading a review of this last Jedi movie and then I realize what'$ up...Disney bought the Star Wars franchise and the review says expect 10 more years of sequels....

Ha..now I understand. Disney bought the franchise to turn it into $tar War$ which is predictable I gue$$. So now I am sort of disappointed but not surprised.

Seems like there is almost no story development in most movies now. Its all action all the time - to the point of being ridiculously stupid. The action actually gets boring to watch because nothing is really happening.

This was the best SW movie in decades. It was a lot of fun. Plus, we learned more about Luke and Leia in this movie than all the others combined. They turned into real people and not just the typical George Lucas 2D characters with bad dialogue.

Why watch a movie to see fake alien life forms when you can watch Live PD and see the real thing.
