Default It's over, move along (bad habit of some drivers)

A line of cars is driving down the road (2 lane). Some idiot on a side street pulls right out across traffic and heads the other way. The lead car (I'm 2nd in line) slams on brakes to avoid collision but then needlessly stops, and sits there for a few seconds making everyone behind him/her slam on brakes too. By the time the car in front of me started moving again, the side road bolter was 4 car lengths behind us going the other way.

Everyone in the line of cars was being normal, courteous drivers (no tailgaters). Had the lead car slammed on brakes just long enough to avoid collision, then released, he/she would have been the only one inconvenienced and the rest of us could have just let off the gas.

He/she took the attitude: Nope!! Not gunna do it!! If I gotta slam on brakes then everybody is going to.

If another driver causes you distress, here's an idea. Don't add to the problem. Pull over and sit there for as long as you like gathering yourself.

I'm sure the lead driver will now adapt his/her driving as will anyone reading the thread...

Probably 75% of drivers are bad drivers according to "good" drivers.

Could've been shaken up from almost getting in an accident and needed a moment to collect themselves.

Argghh, on my way to work there is a red light, often there is 1/2 mile of cars waiting thier turn to get out there when it turns green. Often I'm waiting 15 minutes patiently in line for my turn and cars will pull up on a side street and the moron in front of me stops all the cars that have been waiting in line to let those cars out that JUST PULLED UP and havent been waiting even a minute. HEY MORONS, DONT STOP AND HOLD UP 50 CARS TO LET 1 CAR INTO TRAFFIC!!!!!!

How about the people that stop 2 car length away (behind) from the white line at an intersection...? What the hell?

You're assuming most people are smart enough to understand this concept.

The idiot that stopped was just as wreckless as the jag off that pulled out from the side street.

Same kind of thing when people pull out when the light turns green 5 seconds after the change. There should be a test for thinking speed. I call them sloth-brains.

Couldn't disagree more. I'm that moron that lets folks in, as long as I know thier not cheating the system so to speak. Life's wayyyyyy to short to get your blood pressure up over something so darn trivial IMO.

Go ahead.....you have my permission to call me a moron. "Mods take note"

Which side of that white line are we talking about? I've seen it done both ways.
