Default Once Again Southern Cal on Fire.

Unnerving, several wild fire going in Southern Cal, 150 structures lost (mostly homes).
75 mph wind, I was watching Monday night football and heard a loud noise in my back yard, went out to check it out, a empty trash can was three feet off the ground and pounding against the back porch.
Ready, set, go.

There are 4 seasons in California:
-mudslide season
-wildfire season
-earthquake season
-none of the above

The last on that list is the shortest, lasting only a few days some years.

You kinda forgot Santa Ana season, which in some ways, could be melded into wildfire season. Santa Ana's are typically in the winter, though.

Hey Dulce,

How do you like the Sun Devils Herm Edwards hire? I went to school there back in the 80's and have been a fan since Daryl Rogers days. I was getting tired of Graham so I kind of like this new hire and hope it produces a better team.

That whats going on, we are getting some fierce Santa Ana's, 60 mph with gust to 78, the Santa Ana;s and fire season goes hand in hand.
Historically we get the winds in late October mid November, bit late this year, emotionally draining this late in the year, people are planning their Christmas, suddenly they are homeless.
Winds are predicted to die down later today through Wednesday and return Thursday thru Friday,

It is sad. Stay safe, sir. Property loss can be dealt with. Lives lost cannot be reversed.
Prayers up for all dealing with the fires.

Fires are heading up Ventura County. Might be a long ride to your destination.

Ventura is on fire now, zero containment, Santa Barbara could be next. I'm an hr North and have smelled smoke this afternoon.

Went to college at UCSB still have a few friends in the area. Sounds like all are ready to leave. Best wishes to all affected.

Mixed emotions on that is about the best I can say about it right now. Willing to give Herm a chance, but shit, seems like a "good ol' boy" network pick to me by the Director... not like he spent any time at all interviewing anyone else! Hey, if he does well with the team, then I might change my tune.

As you know, I LOVE that area! Have a good friend that lives in La Conchita. They get the mudslide season BAD there! (mostly from all the avocado farms up on the hills above them, then add rain) I was kind of freaked out the first time I went to his house and there was a government notice (mandatory) on the front window of his house saying something about a "geologically unsafe" zone.

I do hope the wind lays and the fires relent. That's such a great area.

Japs tried to light us on fire back in the wars with balloons and fire bombs
.
with all of the fires now a days, I wonder if there are other powers that are trying to burn us all up by simply setting fires with people they have snuck in to our very porous boarders

NHC names hurricanes and Calfire names their fires. Everybody has something.

If that was the case we would never be told.
