We had to evacuate at around 1:00 am.
Headed down to the boat and praying our house doesn't burn up

Headed back to Ojai around 9:00am the same day we evacuated. Left the wife, kids, and dog at the boat.
Here are some pics.
Note I'm the only fool driving into town! Everyone else is getting the hell out of dodge!

All you guys be safe.

I was stationed in San Diego from 03-06 and while there quite a few fires. Some enough to shut the Base Flight Operations down and when we returned to work find the aircraft covered in a layer of ash. That was a few days of washing and rewashing aircraft over and over to get all the ash off and out of systems and ready for flight. So I feel for you guys.

Those are some scary pictures. Be safe. Hope you don't have to, but stuff can be replaced.

You guys stay safe and we hope for the best. One thing about a large website like THT is that its sad to see our fellow members go through these things. With TV its just TV but here its members you get to know. Seems like ever big disaster we have member affected.

Well every time I planned another route from LAX to Santa Barbara it looked like it was on fire too, so we thought it over and cancelled our trip, didn't want to end up being part of the problem with the tens of thousands of people evacuated .

You guys stay safe man !

I spent just a few years in Cali while in the Navy. We had a riot, a Low speed Bronco chase, a major earthquake, flooding like I've never seen before, and the place was on fire it seemed like the whole time I was there. I was never so glad to get on a plane and head back to the east coast. That being said, Santa Barbara is stunning! I miss my little Naval port just down the road.

Man, you guys are getting hammered down there.

Blessings to you, your families and friends.

Westbootie, I hope you are doing alright. Ventura and Ojai look horrendous. Stay safe.

Just talked with my uncle over there (Marimar area). Said fire is 20 miles away and moving in, has his bags packed and ready to roll in a moments notice. Can't help but feel bad as my grandfather lives in northern Cali and they just got back into their old folks home due to that fire and the place is running on emergency styled systems. Generator for the kitchen staff to cook, and generators for other things. Said their roof has like 30-40 generators up top providing power to areas in the home. This has been a rough year for environmental issues.
