Default Mention a few good things about getting old(er)

#1) You don't need glasses to see beauty

#2) You start getting discounts

#3) The younger ones (the good ones) will treat you to breakfast.

Nice to know all those talks at the diner paid off.

I have stopped sweating the little things, you live long enough to have some tragedy and hopefully make it through it and learn something about yourself and those close to you along the way.

I feel I truly know what is important now, I didn't know that 20-15-10, or even 5 years ago the way I do now.

I am 63 yrs old, I look at everything differently, I like it, planning is much easier.
For instance, I am going to need a new roof soon.

If I get a 15 year shingle it only takes me to age 78
if I get a 25yr shingle it will take me to age 88 then it is someone else's problem

I think of my life in terms of how many more times I have to stain my house, I get about 7 years out of a staining. So maybe 2 more times?

You have enough knowledge about enough different things, that you can very often help people on just about anything. When they don't take your advice about things not do do (that you've learned over and over the hard way), you can just smile and say to yourself "stupid _uck!"

Richinct, I have to laugh, I have a couple of years on you, and I think in those same exact terms. I do find now I take the time to be more meticulate in what I do. I still enjoy good health, I'm in a good place in life. Oh, by the way I still have the same vette for 27 years, yep I'm one of those old guys, but no HC parking yet.
