Overhead cams and all that hardware at the top of the engine raise C.G. and make it harder on cornering and handling. When you can get the same power without that problem, plus the extra cost, reliability issues and complexity, why go there?

BTW Bernie, I occasionally drive a car with 1200RWHP on the street. Imagine that, oh wait you can't

Here my daughter and I took it to Mexican

The next week it went 160mph in the 1/4.

I think Bernie may be the sort of guy who can't appreciate a C or D cup breast. After all, A's have nipples and provide milk for offspring and isn't that the most important thing? Anything more than an A would be a waste.
I tend to disagree with the concept but am happy to leave the minivans and A cups to Bernie.

Why? I can see them changing to more of a hemispherical cylinder head design, which makes the most HP per CFM versus going DOHC.

Funny to read all the C7 haters. We have a 2016 convertable, z51, 7speed manual. It's a blast to drive, about 9000 miles in the first year, no garage queen. Gets driven every nice day in the spring/summer/fall, and driven as hard as possible. A couple times on clear xway with no traffic, had it at about as fast as I'd like to go...

They are awesome cars.

Yes, I have a co-worker with a 63 split window fulie, I'm not sure what it's worth, he had had it for 30 years, did much of the restore himself (small block engine calibrator a while back). I'd trade in a minute!

Well flat head engines had a lower CG than OHV engines too and they are long gone except applications where people like the look, like hot rods. Nobody runs a flathead for performance now and in a very few years nobody will run an OHV engines for performance either.

You canít get the same power from an OHV engine as a DOHC 4 valve/cyl engine of the same displacement and induction method.

No, it is a real answer.

You are on a boating forum, so I would say it would be safe to assume you have a boat and fish.

Why would you waste the money and fuel to do so when you can simply buy the fish that people are already harvesting commercially?

Because you enjoy it.

It's pretty simply. Because you do not agree with it makes it difficult for you to grasp.

What you are saying has been said for over a decade.... OHV engines will be gone in a few years.

If you look at GMs 6.2 vs the Ford 6.2 OHC (now gone), Toyota's 5.7 OHC, (and probably others), it's tough to point out where the 6.2 is lacking in power and economy vs the others. Plus, it costs less, and packages better.

There are some that will say that I won't by a car unless it has an OHC. Most just look at power/drivability/FE/cost and pick based on that...

its looks good but not sure about making the car heavier at nearly 3600 pounds it weighs about 250 pounds more then the previous generation. the previous generation was extremely fast around the track for 2009 (even today)and was faster than just about everything. it was fast in a straight line as well 0-60 3.3 seconds with a manual. this car will be faster than the previous and that's a given but will it be on top of the competitors like the previous generation. I think this is a great car just not quite as track focused as the past zr1. and is a fraction of the price of the lambos Ferraris and McLaren's

Saw a sand rail going down the road today.
Made me smile.

Lotus and Lola.
I like Lola.

The sound of a V8 at full song.
