Who makes a good power winch for the trailer?

I bought one of those "powerwinch" models from west marine. when I got it home and looked closely at it,looked so cheesy ,I brought it back without using it. I bought a rule ,by the same company that makes the bilge pumps. beat the heck out of it for a few years, but it had problems. (the free spool mech. froze) It was a real work horse though. might be worth a look.

I was looking at these and thinking of the model 1200 (DC).

Well I made the move on the SA Series w/ DC power,

WOW is all I can say. I used it for the first time this weekend and like WOW........loading a boat was never so easy. The quick connect/ disconnect setup I installed at the bumper was the icing on the cake, man am I pleased! I should have done this years ago.

Here's a couple of pics of my electrical hookup.....it works like a charm.

The coupler on the left in this pic is the factory 7 pin and the one on the right is my new 6 pin hookup.

The left side male coupler is the factory plug which is my trailer hookup, the one on the right is what I just installed for my trailer's power winch.

Jim at BOE sells the RC23 and RC30 made by Power Winch. http://www.byownerelectronics.com/st...1&cat=0&page=1

I purchased the RC23 and I'm very happy with it. The RC23 comes with a wireless remote control and there is a light on the winch when you need to use the winch in the dark.

Mounting it was easy and wiring everything up was a breeze. Good range with the remote to boot!
