Default Ever Been Bit by a Venomous Snake?

Just wondering if anyone here has ever been bitten by a venomous snake. What kind? When? How? Where? Result? Did you survive?

Me - never.

I haven't but my 85 year old grandmother got bit by a copperhead a few years ago.

Knew what it was, walked to the house and called the fire Dept directly (pretty much our family that works there)

She still has issues with her foot where it bit but is otherwise fine.

From what I understand the bite kills tissue where it bites. Can get all kinds of issues afterwards..

Never. And you get three million points for using the word venomous.

I've been hit by two water moccasins while wearing snake boots, no injection either time, but its amazing how hard they hit, and how fast they hit when they bite.

Had a couple of close calls with some I kept captive but have been pretty careful over the years.
As a kid I spent a lot of time with neighbor Bill Haast of the Miami Serpentarium. He was in his 60s when I was a young teenager and he would often let me into the "milking" room where venomous snakes from all over the world were kept and utilized for making anti-venom. He was a pioneer for herpetology and a very personable and patient man who taught me many things about snakes and may other reptiles.

As stated above the complications from both hemotoxic and neurotoxic snakebites can have serious long term affects that can be debilitating for a very long time.

No, but while walking in the yard early this morning I thought I was about to step on a copperhead. I jumped as high in the air as a 53yo can and screamed like a girl! Turned out to be a pine limb with a triangular shape on one end .
Once I got myself back together I threw it in the woods.

I wish I had gotten a pic of it. Sure startled the $h!t outa me!

I just read an article about a woman who was bitten by a copperhead in the lobby of a Longhorn Steakhouse.
