Default Irma and 'climate change'

Anyone else sick of this narrative??? How does this guy know? I sympathize with all these nations' leaders and the people of the Caribbean that suffered horrific losses and their long road of recovery ahead. But come on. Being critical of and blaming this storm on other people who don't believe questionable climate science is pathetic!!!

"On Barbuda, the prime minister, Gaston Browne, said 90% of buildings had been destroyed and 50% of the population was homeless. He blamed the carnage on global warming and criticised world leaders who deny climate change. He also said he was considering ordering residents of Barbuda to evacuate if a second Hurricane, Jose, is forecast to hit the island in the coming days."

Climate change is real. And man is contributing.

However, this foolishness from people like him only fuels the deniers. Scientists are very clear that, while climate change is real and we are making it worse, there is absolutely no evidence that it is contributing to stronger storms at present, any more than it is disproven by cold snaps in the winter. Such changes are in the long term. No evidence at all that current weather patterns are being impacted to this extent.

I've been wondering if there is some sort of correlation to the larger storms and increased solar activity. We just recently had the biggest CME in a decade or so. Curious...

Under the circumstance I think it's pretty lousy to blame anyone on these catastrophes.
However, over 97% of climate scientists and 82% of Earth scientists agree that humans are a significant contributing factor to the current global warming. Basically the more expertise a scientist has in climate science, the more likely he is to believe that humans are causing it.
Personally I'm not a scientist so I couldn't tell you, but neither are our leaders and politicians. The statistics seem pretty high and I'm sure that most scientist are accurate in their data.

My dad used to say: Science has given us cell phones, put men on the moon and rovers on mars, but politics and greed is what set path for the dark ages so long ago.

I'm more of a science man myself and certainly don't trust anyone in Washington getting million dollar contributions from oil, fossil fuel and tobacco companies.
Go ahead my financial contributors dump all the pollution you want in the atmosphere. I'll just tell my constituents that global warming isn't real..

During all of the debates on global warming, destruction of the ozone and other man made catastrophies, I didn't see any reference to the total destruction of the amazon rain forest. With out the plants absorbing the natural carbon dioxide, along with man made carbon dioxide, we will see every thing the tree huggers say we will. But no one is stopping the deforestation of the amazon, why? For beef? Because it's Brazil or Peru or anywhere else in South America? So, let's throw $100 billion dollars a year into some halfassed fund that no one else pays to, so that Russia, China and India can increase their carbon foot print and South America can destroy the only thing left on this earth that actually creates oxygen. Thanks for letting me rant. Thank you, thank you very much.

Focus your rant on the great plains of the US where thousands of acres of beautiful grasslands are being destroyed to plant corn used to make ethanol. It takes more energy to make gallon of ethanol than it produces. All in the name of getting the presidential votes of the farmers during the Iowa caucuses and farmland primaries. You guys in the SE and middle of the country get to buy 100percant gas and we in the NE get stuck with the ethanol. Giant scam.

Where's that thread about crap I'm tired of hearing about?

Irma hasn't even made it to the US or finished with the Caribbean yet. No time for this rhetoric.

First of all, I feel sorry for any populace that has to work through the damage and destruction these storms can bring.....

But,

Part of the great climate change hoax was convincing the producing nations to donate money to the developing nations. Why? I have no clue. But there were billions at stake before Trump pulled the rug out from under these greedy parasitic dictatorships.

Remember; promise someone money or free shit for their vote or support and they will follow you around like a lost puppy dog looking for food. Take all of that away and they show up on national TV spewing climate warming talking points like Al Gore taught them to.

This is all about a poor island economy that has no resources to rebuild looking for some help. And I can appreciate that. But trying to blame all of this on global warming is not provable.

If we know that man is contributing to climate change, please specify what portion of the current climate change trend is man-made and what portion is naturally occurring.

Clearly, the climate has been changing since before man. There is some underlying climate change unrelated to man, correct? So if man is adding to it, please specify what portion of the current trend is due to man. It is 50%? Is it 10% Exactly how much is it?

If you can't specify this portion of change that is due to man, then how can you be sure it's not 0%?

This question has never been answered. Why not?

Well then there are those that believe stuff like this. Taken from a post on facebook.

"Well....California is on fire, Oregon is on fire, Montana is on fire, areas of Canada are on fire,
Texas is underwater, Idaho had a 5.3 earthquake, North Korea just tested their 6th nuclear bomb causing a 6.3 explosion quake, and Hurricane Irma is forming in the Atlantic. Tornadoes this summer and a 2.5 earthquake in Virginia and Boston along with one in Colorado yesterday! And people are fighting to take God out of everything, seems to me God is sending an awfully loud message!!!!!! PUT HIM BACK WHERE HE BELONGS! WAKE UP FOLKS
#betterwakeupfolks copied from a friend but makes sense to me!"
