Could you post the tracking number so I can follow up? I don't think the other thread would be the place to keep up with that info.

Jay, my package they wouldn't accept yesterday. It apparently is on its way back. I will do a little research and send it again and post my tracking number. Have you received any packages? God bless!

Jay I'd love to send some stuff and help out. What do y'all need most, and where does it need to be sent?

Let's hold off....im not sure these packages will get here. Let's see if they get here first and then make a call. Don't want to have a bunch of money spent only to find out that it wont get here for two weeks, after people need it.

I guess what I'm saying is I dont want to waste resources.

Jay, Would you mind posting a list of exactly what you think your neighborhood (and you) will need in the next 7-10 days. Maybe update this list every week or so.

Someone can pick up things and drop them to you personally if they are headed that way.

FYI Amazon is showing me at least 2 weeks for quickest delivery to your area.

Experience from Katrina tells me this is going to be a long and painful road for many, especially those without flood insurance. Outside support in the form of clean up supplies and free labor for clean up and rebuild (sheetrock, flooring and paint) will be needed badly for at least 6 months.

Jay, I found a local VFW that is bringing supplies down on Friday. I am dropping off my donations with them.

Just keep me/us posted as I'd love to personally help. First hand experience with Katrina, people will need stuff for weeks or months to come. Let us know, we'd love to help!

Same with me. This past Friday, Amazon told me the earliest Prime delivery would be 9/14 to the Fedex store you provided. That is not as timely as we would like. We want to get our help there as quickly as possible, so wife donated a bunch of stuff to a local convoy that should get there...tomorrow, I think.

My trunk and backseat are filled with hand made quilts, socks, and care package with soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, and deodorant all wrapped in a new towel. My wife drummed up volunteer's from our Lutheran Church to help making the quilts, donate and put together the care packages. I agreed to take everything to wherever it needs to go. There is another Lutheran church that is trying to get volunteers to donate similar stuff but they haven't been able to get much so far. This church is collecting everything from the Lutheran churches in the area and getting it to Texas. I think they are going to contract a truck to deliver everything to Texas, this is what we did for hurricane Katrina. If I can get some kind of PRO number for the truck I will pass it on to you.

This is our church webpage: http://www.firststjohn.com/

Thanks!!

Jay,
My delivery date arbitrarily changed from Thurs 09/07 to Thurs 09/14. I called Amazon to complain and explained that these were hurricane relief supplies and that the Fed Ex station was open and that I had a previous guaranteed date of 09/07. After an hour of being transferred around I was promised that the package could and would be redirected on an expedited schedule. I am sorry buddy, I was really trying to help out in a time of need. If they get there too late, feel free to donate them to anyone who may need them at a later date.
