Default West Marine Coupon

Decided I had enough lunch meat and bought a grill for the boat today. West Marine had one on sale and the mount I needed in stock. Also found a coupon for the site. Drove to the store to buy it, made it just before they closed and figured they'd match the coupon from the site. No dice. Got the sale price but wouldnt give me the $15 coupon.

I could have had it shipped for free which would have cost them shipping, so it doesn't make sence they wouldn't match the online price. It wouldve been $15 less plus they would have eaten shipping.

Listen I wanted it today and they delivered. Maybe the overhead of the store is worth the cost of shipping online. But either way, I was bummed they didnt match the price. Thats my gripe. Happy Labor Day. The grill looks good on the boat!

usually stores have their own p&l's and the website had its own as well. there are many reasons, including the stores have high overhead while the website likely has lower. the stores need to remain profitable and profitable against one another if there are any nearby as it could force consolidation or closure. the whole point of B&M stores still existing is if you want something today you can get it today but won't be the best price. you could probably find the grill even cheaper elsewhere other than the west marine website online. there are some services that do same or next day delivery such as amazon. its $15, can't believe you made a thread over it whining when the coupon probably said it wouldn't work in-store

It just makes no sense to me that they will ship to your home for free or to the store for free, even though the store has 3 on hand, but there is no option to buy online and pickup in store based on current inventory. I agree that it has to do with overhead and seperating the two side of the business, but still suprised me.

I cant believe you think responding to my thread and criticising the subject matter is any better than me starting a thread about this...
