Thanks Rick, I know about all the support groups. I am hoping to find someone his age that he can relate to he's 26. I can't get him to go to groups or counseling at all.

Hey Jeff

My son is 23 and has TBI from a car accident 2 weeks before last Christmas. He was flown to Shock Trauma here in Baltimore and is lucky to be alive. He was in a coma for 6 days and has been in therapy since being released from Shock Trauma around the first of the year. To look at him today you would never know he was in a car accident. He had to learn how to do everything over again, walking, eating, using the bathroom, etc. He has a limited vocabulary, has no problem dropping an F bomb or saying shit when he is agitated, which they say is normal. But he hasn't called anybody or anything by it's name, he knows what everything is but his brain just hasn't connected yet. His Dr. and all the professionals taking care of him say he will recover but it takes a long time.

Incidentally Fast Times at Ridgemont High is our favorite movie, we used to recite lines from that movie, him being Spicoli and me being Mr. Hand.........God I miss that.

If I can help in anyway let me know

Praying for your sons. I had mTBI and it sucked. Took about a year to recover and still some memory issues. Neuros just said it takes time.

Jeff, send me a pm next week and I can probably provide some insight.

I had a concussion over five years ago and still have not fully recovered.
