Ask Ted Cruz and the rest who voted against Sandy support. This is not the time for this idiotic debate, people need help!

Hurricane sandy was called super storm sandy because of what it did to Haiti not to the north east or so I have always thought. It made land fall in the north east as a cat 1 barely blowing 80 knots not exactly a super storm but the media lives on hype. Texas has enough horrifying images coming out now that it has the nations eye without too much sensationalism.

"Sandy" was nothing more than a stiff breeze. Sorry to hear about Dickinson and San Leon. We aren't out of the woods yet. Take care

Sandy actually wasn't a hurricane when it came ashore in jersey. It had extra tropical characteristics even though it had hurricane force winds. So it couldn't be called hurricane sandy when it hit jersey. Thus the nickname "superstorm"

Sandy was a big nasty cat I hurricane that got wrapped up in another weather event and hit an area that was apparently not able to deal with a cat I hurricane. From what I have seen, Harvey is kind of like Katrina in that:

Harvey didn't hit Houston but it did cause flooding there.
Katrina didn't hit New Orleans but did cause flooding there.

People drove right through Mississippi (where Katrina actually made landfall) through the towns that were completely devastated to go help Katrina victims in New Orleans because the media was all over New Orleans.

I imagine the same is true with Harvey. Somewhere well south of Houston got hit with a landfall of a CAT IV hurricane and probably suffered catastrophic destruction but the media focusses on Houston because it is a population center so a disproportionate amount of aid will be focused there.

All of these events sucked for everyone involved but the media does seem to focus on the population centers and more recognizable city names.

Not bad points, but Katrina made landfall in Plaquemines parish, Louisiana.

Peak winds of Sandy in my area were 94 mph at Eatons Neck CG station. The storm really hit at high tide and we had a 10 foot tidal surge. The low lying areas of south shore also really got hammered because much of it is less than 10 feet above sea level; same in parts of NYC...

1. The media named it. No one talks about Superstorm Sandy, it's just Sandy
2. Who is whining? There are people still fighting to get back in their homes 5 yrs later because funding has become political but I wouldn't call it whining.

If your place got trashed in Harvey you'll get firsthand experience.

Lastly, your post is real high on the douchebag scale and makes you come off like a whiney twat.

Whaa Sandy got a special name
Whaa where are the threads promising support

Maybe instead of posting stupid crap on here, get off your ass and help your neighbors.
