Default What kinda snake is this?

Saw one about 18" long crossing my driveway yesterday, then my neighbor caught this one. This is in South Dakota.. This one is about 12" long, pissed about being captured in the bucket and pretty aggressive.. Has the tung action going on... Sorry about the quality, looked good on my iPhone....

Baby black racer. Good guy and harmless to people and pets, unless you raise mice and rats.

Looks a lot like a juvenile black racer.

Could be others though which is why the head is important. Pupils look round to me, though, so I'm inclined to say it's harmless.

We have a black racer that hangs out by the pool cage. Wags his tail like a rattler. We just laugh at him.
