Default One man band using an iPad....

Anyone have an app you can recommend for this. I've seen guys use these for playing happy hour or whatever. Basically a guitar, an amp, an iPad all hooked together somehow. My son plays guitar and I think he would like this a lot but I don't know where to start looking.

Long time lurker here, so my first post! There's an app called Onsong from the app store for about $25. You can import or type lyrics to a song along with the chords. You can also import backing tracks and it plays them and scrolls the words on the screen in time with the music. Just plug the iPad headphone jack up to an input on the amp. Professional quality backing tracks are available for just a few bucks each.

You can also record on an iPad using Garage Band (Apple app) and a guitar adapter. I use Apogee Jam, but there are a few of them available. If all goes to plan he can publish his music for free on Soundcloud.com Feel free to ask questions if you need any more info!

x2 for OnSong
we use it for our set list at gigs and when we change a few songs you just send it to everyone. Best App so far

Kind of like the "Looper" app that Jimmy Fallon and Billy Joel used for recording multiple tracks for this duet? https://9gag.com/tv/p/VEBGj/billy-jo...my-fallon-sing

Steve_I,

Do you like your Apogee Jam? Which model do you have?

I'm looking to do just some simple single-track instrumental recording and the amount of products out there is staggering. Basically, I just want to either go direct into an interface from my pedalboard, or I want to mic the room to the interface.

Any advice? Thanks and sorry for the drift...
