Default Purchased Lures. Am I bieng to petty?

Ok I purchased 3 new 12" refraction lures from a company called MagBay Lures.
They look really nice and are somewhat nicely rigged, but definitely no Black Bart.
They are advertised as 12" lures and have a clear description as 12" lures.
I received them in the mail last week and they looked short so I measured them.
One is 10 1/2" one is 11" and the other is 10 3/4"
So I e-mailed the compiny and expressed my concerns.
They responded the next day that ( the lures measurements fluctuate and are generally only around 11 1/4" , and that's what's the specifications drop box reads.) So, I went back and checks and nope it reads overall length 12.0"
I took a picture and sent them along with a picture of their lures next to a measuring tape.
They responded that (we are very sorry for your inconvenience, we do not have any 12" lures. And that if I wasn't happy with them they would be glad to give me a refund.
I've emailed them back asking if they did not have any actually 12 inch lures, why the hell are they selling them as 12"? And if they have any refraction lures closer to 12" they can send me?
Does anyone think I am being to petty?
And is it normal to get a lure 1 1/2 lesser than advertised?

12 oz beer mug at most bars doesn't hold 12 ounces anymore.

Since you asked our opinion...life is way too short. If your boat and tackle are raising fish....whats there to worry about?

They might run better that way. I bought I couple lures from them that were like yozuri bonita and they were also smaller than I thought. But oh well.

Petty , move on . A lot of guys , myself included , will trim (cut) the skirt shorter anyway so that the skirt doesn't foul the hook/hooks .

Yeah, they pre-cut the skirts so you don't have too.

TrueGrain,
You are correct to point it out to them.
Just do not buy from them anymore.
Another life lesson then let it go.

Do other companies lures actually measure their advertised length?

Remember the 12" subway sub sandwich controversy?

.

Ok guys you win by majority.
I thought a quarter to a half inch would be petty, but 1 1/2" wow.
I'm apparently being petty! Lol
