Free:
Avast
Avira
Both very good
Others too

Then - Malwarebyte - free but upgrade with lifetime license for more features. Worth every penny

Then - UMatrix a browser plugin.

I also use Zonealarm firewall

I've always used Trend Micro with no issues at work or home.

I'd beware of Kaspersky though. Saw a recent report that the founder is tied to Russian intelligence. They deny it, but there are other choices.

If you are using Windows, then MS has a good free program Security Essentials (or something like that).

I have used Trend Micro for several years. Lately, however, Trend Micro will fail to start up when I reboot my computer, leaving me with no AV protection until I manually start Trend Micro. I have been unable to figure out this problem on my Windows 10 system.

Trend Micro is generally among the very best performers in standardized AV program tests.

AVG Free. Tried McAfee several years ago and it seemed like it slowed my 'puter to a crawl. Add Malware Bytes anti malware and you should be good to go.

*note, if heavily into porn then you may want to get some paid versions of anti virus.

There are those rare times when you actually get more. The IT techs at my place of work recommended AVG, I have used it for the last 5 years and have never had any issues. FREE
