Wow...not worth it.

(In my opinion...you won't get a return on that with most degrees).

Holy shit man - we are talking about a tattoo. I would hate to have been raised in this dickheads household. Kids are going to be kids and they must live and learn JUST LIKE there parents did. You can raise them and instill your beliefs the best you can, but at the end of the day they have to make there own decisions.

I got a tattoo when i was 18 and 12 years later I realized I didn't like it anymore. Thank god for technology there is pretty much a tattoo removal shop on every corner of the road now a days. It's funny how people think they are still living in the 80's and 90's

Sounds like a very reasonable father to me. I said much the same to my daughter and it worked.

She is now 30yo, has a good job and two kids. My wife told me she has two small ones now. One is under her watch wristband and the other is someplace a father will never see.

I am an employer and agree with other posters, it puts an applicant at a disadvantage when applying for a job. I don't want some tatted up person representing my company. It's really very simple. When we are dealing with people we will be judged by our appearance, why make it harder to be accepted by a customer? A while ago I had a guy come and apply for a job with dreadlocks. I told no way I would hire him, let's not waste each other's time and sent him on his way. Then I called up my friend that had recommended him and asked him if he was blind or crazy.

Jersus do you have any kids?

So people aren't interested in hiring the most qualified - just the ones who pass the look test. Success is passing you by.

Spot on. I guess people don't realize you can't judge a book by its cover.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions... He's a father, I can understand some of it.. was he a jerk about it, IMO, yes.. threats aren't the way to go about it.

Tattoos mean very little to most employers anymore, it's mainstream at this point. I make 6 figures, I'm tattoo'd and pierced and No, they are not covered. I've earned my way up and no one bases it off the way I look, its been based off my performance and my results.

Being the way he made it out to be... more childish than his daughter really.

There are equally qualified (or more so) applicants that aren't full of tattoos. You don't see many professional people that are all tatted up.

You all may not like my message, but I can assure that employers of my generation think like me and if you're getting tattoos you should put them where they won't be seen by your employer or his customers.

You'd be surprised. You, like me, are probably a dinosaur in today's culture. Adapt or fail. The better person I hire, the easier it is for me.

A father who wants the best for his daughter makes you think of Hitler and the size of his penis?

You stated father in OP made you think of Hitler, you then state he may have a small penis.

Now you say that's "not what you read in the OP".

What point are you trying to make?
