Hello,
I would like to know more on this boat as I just bought a 1993 to restore. Do you guys know if these pontoons are baffled like the aluminium pontoon boats or where I could get some schematics on the hull? Also have any of you had issues with cracks in the T-top frame? I am installing some '96 175 Nercury motors and they are CRs w/ 21 pitch props and I couldn't find the plate on this one for max HP before I left his house last April and I am gathering parts for our July project here? My brother is bringing it up this month and we are all new to this boat. The pontoons on both sides were punctured when the rails on the trailer failed and the risers punctured both pontoons just behind the rise on the bow. Not a huge issue for repair to me. Both pontoons were ill repaired and the guy made a mess trying to patch it over wax and gel coat making water scoopers on both sides (LOL). He gave the boat away after pulling the 4 strokes and sold it for $2250.00 including the trailer and four new tires. This boat was landlocked in Austin, TX and both the seller and us both were very happy with this trannsaction, but I don't think he knew what the hull was really worth as the ad read "trailer w/ free boat" and he said his buddy gave it to him to sell when he went overseas and he was happy w/ what he had sold the motors for already. Where can I get some more info on this hull? I was also very surprised at the many cracks in the T-top frame and assumed it was broken when it was hauled to TX from CA based on the license plates and the haul may have caused much of this metal fatigue and poor condition from a forward break that looked older. This may have been storm dammage, but the hull is mostly sound overall w/ no UV damage and solid except for the bad repair job on the two keel issues that are not major structuraly. I'm thinking a little glass work and antifowling paint and sticking this one in a slip in freeport, but would like to know if these pontoons are baffled in their construction if they have further issues for safty reasons. Any advice or answers on this hull would be very appreciated Me and my brother are going to have fun w/ this one and including the motors we have less than $4k in it and all we ended up needing now was some resin, glass and a powerpack for one side. I want to also install a new helm and wanted to know if these came with teleflex dual cable, hydrolic (Sea Star) or something else. the Helm was not there and I have never hooked up a cat configuration and this would be nice to know more about. We are not doing this to sell it, but to take the kids fishing and to bribe the boys to come home from school a little more often with friends and I'm getting too old for the smaller monohulls and am looking forward to a smoother ride here.

Thanks,
Capt. Smiley"

Is this the same cat?

If the T top doesn't drain water properly it can freeze and crack pipes and welds, even on heavy duty tops or towers.
