Default Why do people drink Coffee?

I could never quite understand the attraction to coffee. I ha on occasion had a cup to warm up when I am cold but have never liked the taste, the bad breath or running to pee after having drank it. Latley, I really question the health risks associated with these artificially manipulated caffeine levels in some of the coffee being sold and the economic impact with people buying coffee at 6.00+ a cup.

Most of all, why do people buy or pour a cup of coffee and never drink the whole cup? I find cups of cold coffee left around the office everywhere half full.

I think coffee drinking is becoming more of a socially vogue thing than because people actually enjoy it. Whats your take? Why did you start the habit and could you quit if you wanted?

The caffeine bump is nice. That's it for me.

Because I love everything about it. It's my only vice left.

I'm with you. I absolutely hate the taste but do like the smell of certain coffee beans and ground up coffee.

Some people say after they drink coffee they have to poop so maybe its a form of laxative for some

I left that out but that's a reason I probably won't quit now that you mention it. It also has some health benefits some say.

I usually only drink it when I fish, to wake up. I'm sure it has health benefits in moderation.

Only fresh ground here, no manipulation.

Two cups in the morning, love the smell, taste is decent and more importantly it really gets the lower bowls going in the morning!

If you're a coffee lover, as I am, you owe it to yourself to check out Vietnamese coffee.
A few months ago my wife and I were in an ice cream shop and we saw it on the menu.
We had never heard of it it so she looked it up.
Later that week we received a package. I didn't even know but she had ordered some and what they call " phins" to brew it with.

Since that time I don't drink anything else, I went from one cup a day to sometimes 3!
I have been drinking Starbucks and nespresso for years. And have always loved coffee.
This is something else, better.

I drink it because I love the taste and it helps me get things done.

Fishing, lifting weights, sex and coffee....

Halo top ice cream is also up there.

I never drank it until they gave it to us in week 2 of bootcamp. My company caused quite the uproar on base as the "new guys got coffee". Our lead company commander (drill instructor) was a cook and was all about proper food and nutrition. "I'm tired you guys being sleeping, everyone drink a cup of coffee with lunch".

That mud water has had me hooked since.

It certainly greases the skids for me in the AM.

Good fresh coffee properly brewed is very enjoyable to me. Both the caffeine bump and the warmth. My crew was beyond appreciative when I broke out the generator and the Keurig on out last overnight canyon trip. Black, no sugar or milk to some is vile but at 4 AM that morning you would think I was handing out cups of Pus&y.

Two cups in the morning to get the motor running, doesn't matter what kind. It's medicinal

I have a brother that buys his beans over the internet, roasts them to just the darkness he likes and then grinds the freshly roasted beans, with him it's religious
